Scattered

Over the next couple weeks, I’m gonna show you some of the things I’ve been working on lately. Along with that, I’m gonna be having lots of give-aways, so tune in often for your chance to win some great prizes!

The first project I’m gonna show you is the Scattered quilt I made for the Stitch ‘n’ Sparkle booth at Quilt Market and Festival in Houston.

This pattern is by Connie Kresin Campbell. It’s called Scattered, and you can get the pattern HERE.

You simply will not believe how fast and easy this quilt is, and she has instructions in her pattern for 6 different sizes! Plus, it’s an instantly downloadable PDF pattern, so you can be started within minutes of purchasing the pattern. It’s also super Layer Cake and Charm Square friendly!

For the booth sample, I used Stitch ‘n’ Sparkle’s new collections by Paul Brent with a beach and sea theme. You can see (and purchase) all the prints HERE.

We used the Sailboats print for the outer border, and we put this Beachscapes large-scale patchwork-looking print on the back:

I experimented with a couple layouts:

It was fun deciding on a final arrangement:

And because I had leftovers, I’m having a give-away!

Let’s call it a “Starter Kit” for a Scattered quilt. Up for grabs, I have 21 5-inch squares, plus one yard of the Sailboat print to get you started. You’ll need sashing fabric, and a few more coordinating pieces to go along with this, depending on the size you choose to make. And you can always purchase more of those exact fabrics directly from Stitch ‘n’ Sparkle HERE.

To have a chance at winning this bundle of fabric, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. I’ll choose a winner on Friday, the 16th.

Here’s a summary of the details of the quilt I made:

  • • Pattern used: Scattered, by Connie Kresin Campbell. You can purchase it HERE. Plus, check out Connie’s web site — she has lots of cute stuff!
  • • I made the twin-sized version, 64″ x 72 1/2″.
  • • I quilted mine with an all-over medium meander, and used the stripe from the collection for the binding.
  • • You can purchase the fabrics HERE.
  • • Don’t forget to comment below for a chance to win the bundle I’m giving away!

THE WINNER IS: Donita M. Thanks to everyone for playing along, and keep checking in, because more give-aways are coming right up!
