Over the next couple weeks, I’m gonna show you some of the things I’ve been working on lately. Along with that, I’m gonna be having lots of give-aways, so tune in often for your chance to win some great prizes!
The first project I’m gonna show you is the Scattered quilt I made for the Stitch ‘n’ Sparkle booth at Quilt Market and Festival in Houston.
This pattern is by Connie Kresin Campbell. It’s called Scattered, and you can get the pattern HERE.
You simply will not believe how fast and easy this quilt is, and she has instructions in her pattern for 6 different sizes! Plus, it’s an instantly downloadable PDF pattern, so you can be started within minutes of purchasing the pattern. It’s also super Layer Cake and Charm Square friendly!
For the booth sample, I used Stitch ‘n’ Sparkle’s new collections by Paul Brent with a beach and sea theme. You can see (and purchase) all the prints HERE.
We used the Sailboats print for the outer border, and we put this Beachscapes large-scale patchwork-looking print on the back:
I experimented with a couple layouts:
It was fun deciding on a final arrangement:
Let’s call it a “Starter Kit” for a Scattered quilt. Up for grabs, I have 21 5-inch squares, plus one yard of the Sailboat print to get you started. You’ll need sashing fabric, and a few more coordinating pieces to go along with this, depending on the size you choose to make. And you can always purchase more of those exact fabrics directly from Stitch ‘n’ Sparkle HERE.
Here’s a summary of the details of the quilt I made:
THE WINNER IS: Donita M. Thanks to everyone for playing along, and keep checking in, because more give-aways are coming right up!

It’s fun to see something here that doesn’t remind me that it’s snowing–again–and it’s more than a month until winter officially begins. I always love your choices for scrappy quilts.
Oh, my new best friend!!!! I have fabric already to make sailboats for a quilt to donate to our local children’s hospital, and even have “sky” fabric for the background ; this fabric would be PERFECT for the borders!!! (And, I could incorporate the charm squares in the backing!!!!!)
Thank you in advance, I just KNOW that I am going to be the winner!!! (I was raised on a beef cattle farm also, if that helps my chances! Visited my brother after church yesterday on that farm!)

Sailboat fabric is making me want to turn back the clock. Folks are all shrink wrapping and storing away their sailboats. Hurry back Spring! I don’t want to see Shelly’s snow come here! Nooooooooooooooo
Love anything that deals with the beach, sun and water. Have been around water all my life. Our kids swam like fish and our grandchildren are going to be the same way. That would go great in our lake home!!
Totally love the outcome! Who doesn’t love the beach, and your layout is lovely!
Your work always moves me to Sew
Cute quilt! Beach theme – the Littles would love it. Always enjoy seeing what you are making.
Beach colors and beach fabrics are always my favorites. Guess that means beach quilts and beach bags are also favorites!
Great pattern. I have some nautical fabric that I won in a bingo game so can make a pretty nautical quilt.
