I haven’t posted a recipe in a while, so I’ve got one for you today. It’s a good one for fall, and everyone needs a good pecan pie to go with their Thanksgiving dinner, too, right?
I could have sworn I already had this recipe posted, but when my daughter called asking for it, and I said “Just go get it off the web site,” she replied: “Um, Mom, I already looked, and it’s not there.”
What!?!?!
That needs to be remedied, so here is my grandmother’s recipe for Pecan Pie.
3 eggs, well beaten
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup dark Karo syrup
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 cups pecan halves
Unbaked pie shell
Mix the first five ingredients together and pour into the unbaked pie shell. Cover with pecan halves. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes, then at 325° for an additional 30 minutes, or until set.
You can find my Aunt Ruby’s recipe for perfect pie crust right HERE, if you need it.
Sounds yummy!!!!!
It is Grandmother Hyde’s recipe? Have you posted her recipe for chicken salad? I remember telling you that I wasn’t surprised when she died. I figured the angels just couldn’t wait any longer for her to fix them some of her chicken salad. She also baked a mean chocolate chip cookie. And she would even do them for me. What a wonderful lady!
Wish I wasn’t allergic to nuts. I never was until 9 years ago. Had some teeth pulled and that was the end of my eating nuts of any kind. Something to do with the meds he used to freeze me. I love cashews and pecans. They were my favs.
I LOVE pecan pie, and this looks easy to do! Thank you.
