The Brunswick Forest Block-of-the-Month kicks off today at Sew Sweet Quilt Shop! If you’re signed up, kits are ready and waiting for you. I’m so excited for you all to get started sewing!
If you’re not signed up yet, what are you waiting for? Give the shop a call at 660.548.3056 and they can hook you right up! Quilt information can be found HERE.
Block One is Tree of Paradise. You can choose from two different color ways for kits, or buy the booklet by itself and do a scrappy version. Here they are:
Fall version:
Non-Traditional:
Scrappy:
The pattern booklet is printed so that you can 3-hole punch the pages and put them into a 3-ring binder to make it easier to use. I wrote an article HERE on how I set mine up each year for the BOM.
I’m also recommending the use of a Bloc-Loc Ruler to use for trimming all the little triangle squares that some of these trees are made up of. I wrote an article about that HERE, if you’ve never used a Bloc-Loc Ruler before.
I’ll be posting about the BOM on the second Saturday of each month, so I hope you’ll follow along for some hints, tips, tutorials, give-aways, and other things related to the BOM as we go through the next year. You can find all the Brunswick Forest posts HERE in one handy place.
The pattern booklet is only available through Sew Sweet Quilt Shop, but the setting information for the scrappy version is not included in the booklet. You can download that information for free, or get it from Sew Sweet when you purchase your booklet. Click here to download it: ScrappyBrunswickForest. You will still need the booklet for the tree patterns, as this file is only the setting information for the alternate third version of the quilt, which you can find more information about HERE.
On Tuesday, the 14th, I’ll be announcing a fun quilt-along that goes along with the BOM, so stay tuned for that. You can participate in this quilt-along even if you are not participating in the BOM, so no worries there.
So . . . are you all signed up? This is gonna be fun!
I picked up my pattern yesterday!
I’m glad you’re posting progress on this…what a beautiful quilt this will be! It’ll be fun to watch, even if I don’t have time to join in.
