I have a new pattern out! And believe it or not, I actually made a Christmas quilt this year!
When I introduced Loretta’s Farm and Garden Samplers back in August, I included the traditional block, Wyoming Valley, designed by Nancy Cabot, as one of the blocks in the sampler.
My Cowboy has spent a lot of time in Wyoming, and he loves it there, and I love the block, so I wanted to make an entire quilt out of it.
I decided since I also wanted to make a quilt using only solids, and winter is fast approaching, that this would make a fabulous red and green quilt for Christmas!
And since this quilt also looks great in just about any color combination, Victoria is also offering up a kit using bright blues and prints. If you don’t want a Christmas version, you can have a Winter version!
The pattern is available from my Etsy Shop, in either the print or PDF version, and it has complete instructions for making the quilt as shown. And here’s a bonus: since the yardage for the two colors is the same, you can switch up the placement, and the pattern shows you what that will look like, just to give you more options.
The finished quilt measures 72″ x 86″.
The kits for the blue version will come with instructions for color placements using those fabrics.
This quilt is easy to make. If you’re an experienced quilter, you’ll whip it out in no time. If you’re a beginner, you will learn a couple new easy techniques for making basic units that you can apply to many future projects.
You can purchase the kit with the pattern or without, and the pattern is available from either Victoria or me. Click HERE to purchase a kit. I’m anxious to see this made up in other colors!
