The PVQG Brown Bag Special

Posted on March 4, 2020 by prairiemoonquilts in Challenges, Guild Stuff

For our group mystery project this year, my local guild, the Pecan Valley Quilt Guild, did the Brown Bag Special, a 4-part program I designed a lot of years ago.

Our group has done this before, but we have a lot of new members, and since the results come out differently every time, AND there are two versions of the program, they wanted to do it again, so we did.

We had 16 participants sign up, and 8 of us showed up at the reveal with finished projects!

Here we are with our projects, in no particular order . . .

Janet:

Donna, who made a bed runner from hers:

Janeen:

Linda, who had the largest project!

Connie. She made a baby quilt out of hers:

Denise:

Sandra (I love her colors):

Mine. I made mine into an Honor Flight quilt that I’ll be sending to my friend, Judy, to give to a veteran.

I will say that with this group project, you HAVE to have commitment from the participants, because there’s a lot of swapping that goes on. If you’re interested in doing this program for your guild, there are two versions of the program (they both work the same, but make different designs), and they are available in my Etsy Shop.

And thanks to Linda K for taking all the photos that I stole from our Facebook group’s page.

Now to dream up something for us to do this year! We always have fun, no matter what.

I remember this Brown Bag Special from years ago; the Special part was that you put chocolate in to snack on along the way and directions in the pattern on when to eat one.. A good motivator for a fun project!
