I’m sure you all got your scraps completely tamed last week, right?
I worked on mine some more, but all the scrap taming has now led to another problem . . .
Some of my bins of pre-cut squares are now so full that the lids will no longer fit!
So I pulled out — get this — nearly 1000 squares from this bin of 4″ squares. Yes, that’s ONE THOUSAND — and the lid still won’t fit. I’ve started 3 new scrap quilts using these 1000 squares, and I’m sure you can see that I could make many, many more just from this one box of squares!
I pulled a bunch of blue and tan ones to make a quilt for the nursing home. I’m just sewing them together in a checkerboard fashion. I have them in four-patches so far. I’ll be finishing it up by the weekend, when our guild is having a charity sew day to make lots of quilts for the nursing home.
So my scrap taming will definitely be an ongoing thing around here. Is it ongoing at your place, too?
This week, I’m cleaning my office and doing a lot of purging. I’ve filled a box with things to give away, and I’m pretty sure my garbage man is gonna wonder what I’ve been up to when he goes by on Friday!
But it feels so much better already, and it leads me to this week’s organizing task:
I’m working on getting this bookcase cleaned out and organized. I am close to done with these top three shelves, but there are two more on the bottom that need doing yet, so that’s what I hope to get done this week.
How about you?
Do you have at least one drawer or shelf that could use a good reorganization?
Have a great week!
