Off The Cuff BOM

My bestie, Victoria, just launched her first Block-of-the-Month quilt, and I couldn’t resist jumping in on it. It’s called Off The Cuff, and I had the honor of quilting two of the sample quilts for this BOM, the red one, and the light one, and it was hard to pick a favorite — I think the light one is winning, even tho red is my favorite color!

Here’s the red version:

Here’s the blue version:

Here’s the light version:

And here are a couple shots of the light version while I had it on the frame:

You can see all three color versions HERE. I’m excited about this BOM, because I know I’m gonna learn some new techniques that I simply haven’t taken the time to try yet.

And I’m really looking forward to the installment where we get to use the Ringleader Template Set. I’m very tempted to make an entire quilt just out of these blocks later on!

This BOM just launched this month, so it’s not too late to get signed up. I know some of the participants are making three versions of the quilt — how ambitious! It runs for nine months. You can get a kit in your favorite color option, or you can get just the patterns and instructions, and use up your own stash. Since I’ve already quilted a red one and a light one for Victoria, I decided to make my own version different, and use up some of my vintage fabric stash.

I’ve got the first month’s installment complete:

The way the patterns and instructions are delivered online is really nice. It’s done through Coursecraft; you log on, get your instructions each month, there’s a video tutorial that goes with each one, and you can chat with others who are working on it, too, and ask questions and show what you’re up to. It’s been fun so far!

I had to fight myself to not do this one. I have to get some of my other stuff done and not take on anymore new quilts. It was hard to not do it though. Who knows, I might change my mind!

Will the insanity ever end? Of course not. All three are absolutely wonderful. I can’t do this though. I may not live long enough to do this one. LOL I did subscribe to Victoria’s newsletter.
