November 350 Blocks Report

Posted on December 1, 2015 by prairiemoonquilts in 350 Blocks Project

Was there lots of sewing going on last month?

Did you get lots of blocks made?

I had a much busier month than I wanted to have, but I sure got a lot done. And oddly, the to-do list seems longer now than it did a month ago.

I hit the goal right on the mark this month — I added 30 blocks to my total. Six of them are for the Moda Sampler Shuffle I told you about in my last post, and 24 of them are for a quilt I’ll show you in a few days.

There’s only one month left to get to 350. I’m gonna have to rally! I’m not even to 300 yet. I see some 9-patches in my near future — haha!

How about you?

Some of you are on your 3rd or 4th set of 350, so no worries; but there’s a few of you hangin’ back here with me!

I’m so anxious to see if we beat last year’s goals! (Do I say that every month?)

This is our last hoorah for 2015. It’s time to report your totals for November, and get busy on December’s blocks.

Leave me a comment or contact me with your numbers. I’ve updated the Project page, as usual.

The prize winner for October is Elaine. She’s up to 507 blocks! That’s gonna help our group total! There will be two more monthly prize winners yet, and I’ve been busily putting together all the prize packages for the end of the year — they’re gonna be good.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season as we finish out this year, and get lots more blocks made!

I had a big month this month 307. Now I have to get those tops quilted and binding done in time for Christmas.

  2. Susan says:

35, but I forgot two. I’ll just throw them in with December’s, because they were on the 30th. =) Total is now 397! I hope we’re going to do this again next year because it helps me to see that I actually DID do something, even when it felt like I didn’t.

  3. Betty K says:

I completed 59 blocks this month. I am over the goal but will continue as usual. I have enjoyed keeping track of my blocks.

  4. Denniele Bohannon says:

98 blocks for the month. That is surprising because it felt like a very slow month! CAn’t wait to see your quilt.

  5. Andrea O'Brien says:

    I had 66.

  6. Martha Cushman says:

rats! only 7 this month. I am on to Christmas sewing, so not many more in sight.

  7. Bec says:

I’ve done 158 blocks for Nov. I worked on a lot of UFOs. You know, 8-10 blocks to finish thos quilt top, 10-12 blocks to finish that quilt and a ton of leader ender blocks.

  8. Cindy says:

Okay 41 in November for a total so far this year of 605. December isn’t looking too promising. Too much to do.

  9. Deanna says:

This is my lightest month yet: 7. Yep, only seven lonely little bocks. That bring the yearly total so far to 370. The good news is that I have made 350, but I don’t know if I will get very many more because of other demands during December. Here’s hoping!

  10. Meloney says:

    I had 157 blocks with a total of 969

  11. My total for the year so far is 365 – so I did my 350 plus a few. It will probably stay at that total due to my broken hip of November 17th. Not much new sewing is getting done around here. I’m working on WIPs that are easily manageable in the recliner or sewing by machine in 5 minute intervals as my energy allows. I hope you do this again, Shelley. I was amazed at how many I did some months. Thanks for the inspiration.

  12. randy says:

24 more for sure.. Oh I thought of you as I nudged a bookcase into my sewing space. I gave up the big ironing space for more storage.

  13. Delana says:

November simply went by too fast. I was only able to complete 3 blocks.

  14. Kathy says:

I have 84 done for November plus I had it quilted and the backing is all done on a king reversible for our daughter for Christmas. I also did one that I’m not sure how to count it is a lap and also reversible. So my daughter and I figured it should be counted as 42 blocks. hope I’m right. If not I will correct it next month as I am taking it to a quilt shop to be sure. So that gives me a total of 126 for November. I won’t be doing anything for December.

I added 111 blocks for a total of 1258. This month is all about assembling tops, so we’ll see if I add anything!

  16. Bobbi says:

You got a lot done! I love your blocks. For November, I completed 41 blocks, which puts me at 1085 for the year so far.

  17. Janequiltsslowly says:

I had a crazy month with lots of real job work so I only got 32 blocks done which includes pieced borders on a quilt that I counted as 4 blocks. I’m way behind my goal this year but hoping for a great finish.

  18. Cynthia says:

I am at the bottom of the pile with only 6 blocks to be added to my total. Here’s what happened if you are interested. http://cynthiasark.blogspot.com.au/2015/12/350-block-project-novembers-report.html

  19. Karen says:

My November count is 54 blocks and total for the year Is 663. I am not sure I am going to get very much sewing done in December but I am going to try to hit the 700 blocks.

  20. Barb B. says:

Well, I got more done than I thought for November: 69. I hope to keep plodding along in December and reach my goal for the year of 1001 blocks… only 64 more to go! That’s a little over 2 a day. I should have enough “sets” of 1/2 square triangles already built that need to be sewn into 4-patches and 9-patches to reach that goal alone. It’s all the trimming that takes the time.

Thanks for the yearly challenge! It helps keep me motivated. Looking forward to next year.

Your goal is 1001!!! Now you guys all know why Barb keeps all those around her breathless. I gave up keeping pace long ago!!

  21. Patricia Hotz says:

I only did about 6 blocks this month.I can’t even find them. we were out of town for a week then my machine went in the shop and I just got it back yesterday. And now I’m in xmas mode so maybe I cant get some done!! Patty

  22. Terri Gross says:

    i did 20 blocks

  23. KT says:

I managed to complete 46 blocks this month way behind last year.

  25. Linda Knight says:

I completed 38 blocks in November but I also got a small quilt quilted and bound. That’s the best month I’ve had in quite a while.

  26. I finished November with 88 blocks. I believe that brings my total to 1261.

  27. Marsha Yahl says:

Block count for November was zero. I was busy taking care of husband after double knee replacement, but did manage to get three quilts quilted on longarm this last week.

  28. Judy Smith says:

lots of sewing this month, 53 blocks. I’m having fun with Christmasy Jacobs Ladder blocks.

  29. JanetD says:

Looks like I only had 9, but since most of them were applique I’m ok with it, and I really enjoyed each one. But, I think some simple 4 or 9 patch blocks would be welcome about now.

  30. Rose Marie says:

My total for November is 152. Okay some of them were really easy blocks but they still count!!
And I finished a few things also.

  31. Heather J says:

Well, I did not have a very productive month either in October or November. I made only 8 blocks for November. Busy quilting my quilts!

  32. Susan says:

Nothing for November, except a complete kitchen and sewing room remodel. Hopefully, I will have time for a few in December.

  33. Lori says:

Ok, finally reporting in for November…with a measly 22, but that’s 22 more than October!
