Time for an update from around here, huh?
I’ve been busy! I feel like I’ve been in a whirlwind, actually. I can hardly believe summer is almost over.
We’ve been working hard on the studio remodel. By we, I mean me and my dear, dear friend, Cindy — I would not be near as far along as I am without her help. I owe her a lot! My Cowboy helps, too, usually when I need something done that involves power tools or heavy lifting, and we had electricians here for 2 days putting in all new wiring in the entire upstairs so I have way more than enough outlets and all new kick-ass light fixtures — I can see to work at night now! Woohoo!
I’m just about to get all moved in to my sewing room portion, so I’ll show you pictures of that as soon as I get it all arranged. Here’s a “during” picture to hold you over . . . when we first started moving the furniture in.
In other news, I have been quilting a little — imagine that!
My quilt, Love Triangles, was in the July/August issue of GenQ Magazine:
A quilt I quilted for my friend, Victoria, was published in the latest issue of Fresh Quilts:
In and around all that, I’m working with this pile of yumminess on a super top secret (of course) project. Once I’m allowed to talk about it, you’ll be the first to know! This is the fabric line “Betty Dear” by Darlene Zimmerman for Robert Kaufman fabrics:
There’s a new Quilt-Along starting over on the Hazel’s Diary blog. I’m a little lot late getting my pictures posted, but I have posted the yardage information, so you can be gathering fabrics, and the first steps of sewing will be posted on September 22. It’s called the Happy & Scrappy Quilt-Along — it’s a throw-sized scrap quilt in bright, bright colors. It’s just a fun little “filler” project before we gear up to start something really big in 2015.
I took an evening off to go on a date with My Cowboy to the winged sprint car races. It was way louder than I even imagined. But really fun! I’d do it again . . .
So that’s it for now. I’m off to paint a floor and pack a suitcase. Have a great week!
Busy girl. Looking forward to more tutorials. Have fun in TN.
Shelly, always love reading the diary. how precious! I will look forward to your posts for the quilt. Safe travels to you. will want to hear all about it.
Congrats on having your quilts featured!
And ooh, a new quilt-along in 2015? So excited about that!! (Maybe I should concentrate on actually finishing something first…)
