I have an after photo to show you from the last task we tackled! Look at this! You can see the before photo HERE.

It feels so much better. Almost all of it was simply stuff that needed to be put away where it belongs. Why do I let it pile up???
Another question it raises is: Will I be able to find those things next time I look for them? Haha! I have a habit of quickly putting things away and then not remembering where I put them!
I’m hoping that, as time goes on, I have less stuff to look through when I’m looking for things, and better places to store things when I put them away. So . . . I keep working on it.
And now, it’s time for the next organizing challenge:
Or a tote, or box, or bag. Go through it, and see what’s in there; get it organized, or emptied, and deal with what’s inside it.
I mentioned the tall pile of tubs I have left in the corner of my spare room (HERE). It’s time to start going through them, one at a time, and see what can be done about them. My ultimate goal is to have lots fewer tubs (and projects), so I’m gonna just take the top one and deal with it. I’m sure I’ll find some surprises.
How about you?
Do you have any tubs, totes, boxes, or bags that you haven’t peeked into in a long time?
Pick one, and see what you’ve got! It might surprise you. You may find something you’ve been looking for, something you forgot you had, something you love and want to finish, or something you have completely lost interest in. I’m very intrigued to know what you come up with. Let me know — and have fun with this one!
Looking good. I do have the problem of remembering where i put things away. Ok will have to pull a tub/tote to organize it.
Looks great. I’ve finally gotten in the habit of taking care of rulers, templates and fabrics after I finish a quilt. My problem becomes a problem if I have too many projects going at once. Last year was a nightmare for me as I was doing so many BOM and sew alongs. So this year I limited myself to one mystery quilt and 2 BOM. Gives me more time to make things I want to try and use up more of my scraps. Happy quilting!
Looks lovely. I don’t understand why I let things pile up – so easy to put them away!
My daughter was over the other week and we went through a box – a lot of her old clothes that I intended to make something with – and a shirt that my son loved – beautiful painting on the back with a whale and surfers. I have an idea for that one. Then my mum visited and out came the UFOs – ugh! I need to finish those off! Another box revealed my grandparents cuckoo clock – it doesn’t work now. I think I’ll just hang it up anyway!
Love your tidy drawers!
Funny you should pick this one, as I haven’t sewn much this month, re organizing my sewing space for a temporary set up. I moved everything that was randomly placed into a reusable grocery bag, and put it into an already filled tub of previous moves ect, ect.
So, thank you for the push, I will get on it this weekend, and hopefully get some sewing in too!
I recently bought a plastic drawer unit to go under my new cutting table. I emptied a tub that you couldn’t see through and moved all of the to be quilted tops from the tub into one (or two) of the drawers. They are stored with batting and backings. I have a few more tubs to go through. One of them is batting scraps that a friend gave me but it’s not the kind of batting I use so I won’t be able to make frankenbatting out of them. They need to go!!!
I totally get the putting things away then not finding them. I’m currently looks for some Dresden plates blocks I already have. 2 sets actually. I’m thinking they’re together. I have been through 2 closets and a cabinet. I have 1 more bin to go. So that will get my bin organization for #2 this month. I already put several things away for #1.
Looks awesome!
I need this challenge SO much!! Now that I’m home full-time, I’m hoping to get things organized….but who am I kidding?!
I’ll keep trying!
I know this is my 2nd response to this post. But I cleaned out 2 under bed tubes. Knew if I do not type now would not remember next month. Then I filled them again with useable batting pieces and put them under a bed not sewing room.
The empty shelf (where all the batting was) now holds neat partial bolts of fabric for backing and quilt. Easy to see.
Neatly wrapping the fabric caused me to look at other items under the fabric. Old FedEx boxes with UFOs. One had the top finished (remember working at a retreat. Which leads back to my current task of finishing backing for completed quilt tops.
Wondering where your task will lead to next month.
