May 350 Blocks Report

Posted on May 31, 2017 by prairiemoonquilts in 350 Blocks Project

Did I mention I’ve been traveling for the past month?

So . . . yeah, I didn’t accomplish much sewing. All the blocks I got done were for Quilt Market samples, and two of those quilts I didn’t even get pictures of, I was in such a hurry to ship them off. So my monthly total of blocks was 28, in spite of myself. I hope to do much better for June.

But I knitted a scarf!

And part of a dishcloth!

I really need to get back in gear . . .

How did you do in May?

It’s time to report in and let me know your new totals. Just leave a comment on this post and let us all know how you’re doing.

I finally got the page updated with last month’s totals, and our new goal for June, which is 38 blocks, for a year-to-date total of 187. So many of you are already there, you can just cruise . . .

Some of you, like me, are hoping for a better month this time!

The prize winner for April is Leslie! She made it to 101 blocks in April! Woohoo!

I’m hoping we all have stellar numbers to report by the end of June, and if you have stellar numbers to report right now, that’s even better!

43 blocks this month! Better than last month! Sounds like you need a few days of rest! I know…what is that, right???

  11. Diana says:

I ended up with 110 for the month of May. 63 more bowties and then 47 blocks for Arkansas Crossroads scrap quilt. Have been making a lot of 2 1/2 inch red white HSTS for a swap. And tryihg to put more stuff away. Been cutting more 2 1/2 squares for another scrap quilt. Should say for many more scrap quilts. The one i just made uses 404 squares. Did not make a real dent in the scrap bin!!!!! I bought enough wide backing the other day for another one the same size.

  19. Darlene says:

21 blocks for me. I have been doing what seems to be endless piecing when will all these parts become blocks!! I have also been working on a few baby sweaters for new grand baby due to arrive mid July

  20. Beth F says:

I assembled 12 blocks this month! With my 75 from earlier in the year, I sooo close to 100!
I’ve been putting together my Splendid Sampler quilts (5 smalls instead of 1 huge), assembling a gift quilt that never seems to end but just this week started finishing actual blocks, and started working at my favorite Nursery/Greenhouse this month.
And I just bought another sewing machine that allows me to free-motion quilt, so I’ve been practicing before I quilt the 8 quilts I have sandwiched. Whew! Time to get productive!

  21. Crystal says:

My count is 96 Quilt of Valor blocks.

    Crystal in Cedar City

One of those blocks was Florence Flamingo, she is about 18 x 27 — a BIG block!! She is going on the back of my Exotic Tropical Flower Garden. She was so much fun to make, I have been debating on piecing her sister, Flossie to join her.

  23. Kathy says:

I’m on sabbitacle. No crafts at all. I am gardening and enjoying our summer place. Doing some reading and just relaxing. But I did do 8 blocks the beginning of May.

178 new blocks for a total of 541. I might have had a little stress relief sewing lately!

96 blocks for me–a record for me! Most of them were easy blocks for a quilt that needs to be done soon–nothing like a short deadline to get you sewing!!

  26. Linda Knight says:

I made 4 blocks in May but got a quilt on the frame to quilt which I will do when I get a batting for it.

  27. Betty K says:

I did 67 blocks for May, but 35 were crumb blocks. Been one of those months of weird stuff besides lots of internet problems. Crossing my fingers but I think it has been finally fixed after 2 trips from the internet company.

  28. 43 blocks in May, up from some very low months. Total is 113, so far behind! That’s okay. It’s better than none. =) And so is your total for May.

  29. Stephanie says:

I have been working more on assembling and quilting this month. But I still managed a set of 24 Heartstrings blocks and a row quilt made from 99 squares, which is figure is about the same as stitching them into 11x 9patches.
So = 35 blocks for May.

  30. Amber says:

My YTD total is 236. 🙂

  31. Meloney says:

I made 223 blocks in all the quilts I finished in May. It was a great month for completions. I used 50 yards of material too. That is a win win.
I hope June is half that good.

  32. Leslie says:

Winner? My total blocks for the year is 101.
We left on our road trip May 11, I did get some cutting done for my blocks but ZERO sewn together. I packed my sewing machine but there it has stayed, sleeping I hope, not pouting.

  33. JanetD says:

Finished 75 blocks in May. It’s been a much better year for sewing but only because I committed to samples for the LQS. Nothing like a little pressure to get stuff done. I haven’t touched knitting needles in ages, but making wash/dish cloths is pretty gratifying.

  34. Rose Marie says:

I did 34 blocks this month…………..and also was instrumental in putting on a great quilt show!! Want to put up a Quilt Show of the Month report?? LOL

  35. Pam Martin says:

I completed no blocks in May. I did bind 2 quilts and applique on another one, but no blocks were completed. I also had the pleasure of having my grandsons for a week.

Sorry, I’m late reporting. Only 4 blocks for May. Still setting together quilts and quilting for my sisters.

  43. I made a whopping 19 blocks in May, mostly because I’m making very time consuming blocks…but better than April. Hoping to catch up this month.
