May 350 Blocks Report

Posted on June 1, 2015 by prairiemoonquilts in 350 Blocks Project

I am highly certain that all of you did way better than I did this past month.

For my block total this month, I have a big fat ZERO!

I worked on nothing of my own. I didn’t even squeak out my monthly guild exchange block, so I still have that to do.

I’m planning for June to be a month of some serious catching up for me, so I hope I can actually make it happen.

How did you do in May for blocks?

It’s time to report in and let us all know!

I’ve updated the 350 Blocks Project page with the June goals. We’re doing another 30 this month for a yearly total of 170.

Some of you are already working on your second set of 350. You make me feel like such a slacker!

As always, double check your totals on the Project page, and let me know if I don’t have your numbers right. I found several errors last month — I have no idea what I did — so please check your numbers.

Last month’s prize winner is Janet S., who has a total of 247 blocks, in spite of having had back surgery recently! I’m so impressed with her. If she can do that, then I certainly have no valid excuse.

So leave your comments and let us all know how you’re doing, and I wish us all a very productive June!

  12. Sue Hook says:

This month I completed 108 – more than what I thought.

  16. For May, I made 26 blocks- more that I thought because most of my time was spent working on two quilts – one was the raffle quilt and the other on which I am machine appliqueing. Phew! You’ll catch up Shelly – we look forward to what you’ve been working on.

  22. Bobbi says:

This is my second month in a row of zero blocks. I quilted a quilt, got the binding most of the way on, and am making good progress towards finishing another top. It’s good to make progress towards finishes, but none of that counts towards my block total. I’m hoping June will be better. I have a couple of baby quilts to make, and those will certainly need some blocks.

  23. Barb in Mi says:

I have added 54 total blocks – Not too shabby! Hope everyone is having a great June!

  24. Krista says:

Now, onward! Time to finish another quilt!!

  28. Pattilou says:

60 blocks for May! …and some finished quilts from some earlier blocks. It’s always fun to have some blocks on hand!

  29. Jane B says:

    Hi Shelly:
I missed the April report with a measly 6 blocks, mostly test blocks for my guild’s raffle quilt. My small group tested the patterns and we are going to make a table runner from the blocks we made. I moved out of my house in late March for a BIG remodel & so resetting up the sewing room in temporary quarters took a lot of the time in April.

I did better in May. I got to take 2 classes from Bonnie Hunter: Texas Braid & Smith Mountain Morning. Tons of fun! Two new quilt projects in two days! I must be nuts! I got 19 Smith Mountain Morning blocks and 4 Texas Braid rows completed. The Smith Mountain Morning blocks each have 28 pieces, & my Texas braids each have 112 pieces, so I’m counting each braid as 4 blocks. SO my total for May is 35 blocks.
