June 350 Blocks Report

Posted on July 1, 2015 by prairiemoonquilts in 350 Blocks Project

Summer is getting away from me. Heck, the entire year is getting away from me — today starts the second half of 2015!

I barely did better than last month this time. I managed to make 2 blocks all month. They were for my Sew Sisters Bee — one for Terri:

TerriBlock1

And one I’m keeping for myself:

TerriBlock2

I can’t even recall what I did in lieu of making blocks, but the month sure went by fast anyway! I did make lots of blocks for others that I don’t count in my total, and some I’m waiting to count next month, so I don’t confuse myself, so I’ll catch up. No worries.

How did you do this month?

It’s time to report in again. Leave me a comment or get in touch to let me know your new numbers.

I have the Project page all updated with the new goal for July. We’re making another 30 blocks for a yearly total of 200! Some of you are way past that, but some of you are hanging right with me — haha!

As always, double-check your totals and make sure I have your numbers correct. I had several corrections to make last month — I don’t know how I messed them all up, but there’s a lot of us to keep track of!

The prize winner for May is Marsha!

I know it’s outdoor weather, gardening season, vacation time, and all that, but try to get some stitching in whenever you can. Have a fabulous Fourth of July weekend!

To much rain so my garden is going to weeds but I am getting some sewing done. I had a big month with 215.

  2. Cynthia says:

I did ok with 45 blocks but it should of being more as I have another 30 block cut ready to sew.

  3. What with the charity quilts I’m making I was able to add 39 to my total. No rain here, but the sun is relentless, so I spend quite a bit of time indoors. Garden? What garden? It’s all dried matter now. Quilting time is miniscule right now – my DGD is visiting for 2 weeks – she’s only 5. Next month will be better for all of us.

  4. martha says:

I managed 41. not too bad (for me).
not nice to complain about rain…send it to California!

  5. Terri Gross says:

    I did 25 blocks.

  6. Deanna says:

This was my best month so far with 60 completed. That makes 216 for the year. The heat gives me more time to work inside, and it has surely been hot here.

  7. Susan says:

I haven’t done my post yet, but my count is 48 this month, mostly because I did a whole big top! I LOVE your blocks. Those look good either way. What fun. I have to make some, too!

  8. Congrats, Marsha!
I made 28 block for June, which I’m ok with because as you know I had a big month in May and jumped ahead of our goal. I joined this challenge not intending to actually get 350 blocks made, but now I realize it may actually be possible 🙂 But we shall see, sometimes life takes over and I don’t get into my sewing room as much as I’d like.
Shelly, just my opinion, but those two blocks of yours have a LOT of pieces, I don’t see why you couldn’t call each of them two blocks 😉

  9. Linda Knight says:

Almost my worst month ever. Completed only 1 block but it was an applique of your Out to Pasture horse pattern.

  10. KT says:

Busy month here with my son’s high school graduation, plus birthdays and such. I managed to get 32 done, and got his quilt quilted, but not bound–need to finish it up before he leaves for college next month!

  11. Maxine says:

    54 total for this month.

  12. Kathy says:

Well it’s been a very busy month for me. I only got 10 blocks done with opening the camp and doctors etc. Hope to do better this month.

  13. Meloney says:

I did 128 blocks the month of June.
Wow, I didn’t expect it to be that high.

  14. Pattilou says:

Deep in the recesses of a quilting room that has the beginnings of a move for hubby and me, I did find the note of my blocks from the first of the month. 27 for June and I’m sure there will be none for July and August, but I’ll keep watching your site. Wish me luck! I hope all the paperwork went as smoothly as listing the house and finding a buyer!

  15. Ramona says:

This has been a productive month for me with completing 95 blocks! My total is 268. Have a great July everyone!

  16. Betty says:

I completed 60 blocks for June. This gives me a total of 331. My big problem/slow down is coming up. We will be moving to Texas. Not sure when all this will be happening but guessing August. So my zero count months will be coming soon enough.

  17. Janet V says:

Weeds are growing the grass need mow all the time but I did get 197 blocks done.

  18. Bec says:

    117 blocks for June 2015!

  19. Pam in KC says:

162 this month — 100 for a DP9 quilt that is now a top, 22 blocks for my Sew Scrappy top and 40 for a 2nd DP9 quilt thus far. Brings my total to 313.

    • Pam in KC says:

Wait — I forgot the 3 3″ LeMoyne stars I hand stitched. I didn’t have them in my spreadsheet. So my FINAL total is 165 for June and 316 for the year.

  20. katie z. says:

151 new blocks for a total of 688 for the year!

I have two projects with the girls, so that has helped.

Made 25 blocks in spite of traveling a lot and getting ready to move. Whew~ what a month!

  22. Bobbi says:

I love your blocks! They are so bright and happy.

I’m finally back on the bandwagon. After two months of zero blocks, I completed 20 blocks this month! That puts me at 595 for the year so far. It feels good to be making progress again. I’m really hoping to hit 1000.

  23. I didn’t feel like I had my most productive month, but I actually made 125 blocks! Total for the year so far is 714. July will definitely be lower.

  24. Cindy says:

I made 80 blocks in June, for a ytd total of 348.

  25. Judy Smith says:

I had 56 blocks for June. I couldn’t believe I had made that many. I didn’t feel very productive.

  26. Heather J says:

    I made 87 blocks in June. 🙂

  27. Jane B says:

    Hi Shelly:
This was a crazy month for me. I should be back in my house in August and (possibly) a bit more regular sewing schedule. Our rental doesn’t have air conditioning and my sewing room is upstairs. We’ve been having consistent high 90’s and over 100 for about 3 weeks now, so not much sewing unless I get up early in the morning. Still managed 9 blocks on my Smith Mountain Morning and another 9 from another project by joining the Crazy Mom Quilts, Scrap Vortex Quilt Along. This is absolutely, positively the very last new project I’m starting this year!! I should be doing lots of finishing for the rest of the year. [You do not see my fingers crossed behind my back.]

  28. Elaine Walker says:

SO—- I had a good month in June. Went to a retreat and got quite a lot done. Total blocks for June is 82. A good month for me.

  29. Karen says:

I made 74 blocks in June. My total for the year is 314. I have been busy making a couple quilts and one quilt has 100 blocks. I hope to have both finished soon,

  30. Susan says:

8 blocks this month, but quilted three or four quilts and am now binding them.

  31. Andrea O'Brien says:

This was a slow month for making blocks—I counted 19. I did bind three quilts, and put the binding on two others, though!

  32. Janet Smith says:

My total for June was 38. I was busy quilting and putting borders on, etc.

  33. Barb Bevell says:

I didn’t make a lot of blocks in June (9), but I finished several!

  34. Patricia Hotz says:

I only got 15 blocks made this month not very many!!

  35. Joy Sleeman says:

I got another 36 little blocks done this month for a quilt I need done by September. Now I only have to do the 2 borders and the top will be done. I did sort out fabric for our groups community quilts program and made up 40 packs of varying degrees of difficulty for people to take and sew, so not a totally wasted month quilt wise.
