Well, it’s the first time in a long time that this has happened, but I did not sew a single block during June! I barely sewed anything at all! We have been moving finally, so things are in a real mess. I still have a lot of studio stuff to move over, but just in the last week, I got the longarm moved and put back together, and set up a sewing machine station.

I still need to get my design wall covered, and my office area needs to get set up, and then I can finish getting the rest of it all moved. I’m so slow at it, and it’s a LOT of trips up and down those stairs! I’ll be so glad to get it done.
And it’s been so hot, which hasn’t helped at all.
How did you do in June? The year is now officially half over, we’re full into summer, and before long, I’ll be back to complaining about the cold again.
Our block goal for July is 30, which brings our yearly total to 205 so far.
The prize winner for May is Diana S.!
The Project Page is updated, and it’s time for you to report in with what you got done! I’ve been living vicariously through all of your sewing, since I haven’t been able to do any sewing my ownself, so I have loved hearing what you’ve been getting done. I once again didn’t get time to respond to each and every one of you, but I DO read every comment! I’m also behind sending out prize packages, but hope to get all caught up with everything this month (famous last words).
I hope to get things back in order around here real soon so I can make some blocks during July. I also have lots of stuff to show you, so I hope to get back on here and start posting more soon. Meanwhile, I hope you all have a lovely Independence Day week!
Oh, wow! I’m so behind – I missed that ya’ll were moving! I dug back into some posts and saw you built a new place next door…yay! Your new space is gonna be great!
I only made 3 blocks in June. I have been working on a prestamped embroidery block and almost have it done! Wish I lived a bit closer as I’d help tote stuff for you. I can’t wait to see your new space once everything gets in its place.
I completed 63 blocks in June.
I am in charge of the guild QAL and since I’m going to be out of town half of July and all of August, I’m having to make the samples ahead of time. 3 blocks each month in 3 sizes each. I completed October’s blocks and I finished a baby quilt that consisted of 54 blocks.
And your sewing space is going to be awesome!!
I completed 10 blocks in June, all for charity quilts. It is finally warm in Northern Michigan so I’ve been in the garden.
Love the view from your long arm.
34 blocks for me in June. Can’t wait to see your new space!
I had a great month and worked on 3 UFO’s completing 57 blocks and I’m off to a good start this month. My guild is having a quilt show in November so I’m trying to finish up some quilt for the show.
I know you are excited about your new space. So happy for you.
I have a long way to go to catch up, but I am getting started. I made 64 blocks which included 3 hand appliqué blocks. I am getting faster with my appliqué.
Shelly! You are totally excused from having to make a single block this past month!!! 🤣 You have been so busy with your move and getting your fabulous new space set up. Good for you!!! That’s still progress in the right direction, just not in a block count.
I am surprised to find out that I have made 76 blocks this month.
I am also sad to report that my best sewing helper, Ranger, my tuxedo kitty and the sweetest kitty in the entire world, has passed away. 😢 He was 16 years old and is greatly missed.
Had an excellent month, no volunteering or working out due to cataract surgery, so more time sewing, plus a 6 day quilt retreat. I made 386 blocks.
In June I made 29 blocks and quilted one quilt and bound 2. Your new quilting room is so sunny. You will really enjoy that once it’s all ready. Be careful making all those trips up and down the stairs.
66 blocks for me. I hope you get all moved into your new house soon. It’s going to be so nice once you get all your stuff in your new sewing studio.
I told someone the other day who was getting things organized in her sewing studio after moving that I really envied her. Mine has only been organized after a move and since that hasn’t happened in 25 years! Needless to say you get the idea! it will be great once done and you can sew again. From what we have seen so far it will be nice.
I did get 51 blocks sewn in June. 16 for my Twirling at the Disco, 32 for Plot Twist and 3 for a Christmas table runner. Now to get blocks sewn together and off the design wall! I did get a queen size quilt bound as well and also a twin size for Linus. June was a fairly productive month.
Thank you for drawing my name for May. That was a nice surprise.
No quilt blocks in June. Still doing hip surgery therapy. But I love to see what all of you are doing!
I made another blue onion quilt with 35 blocks. I also got 11 blocks made for a floral quilt. it takes an hour plus to just cut a block out and about 3 to 4 hours to sew it together. the blocks are intense but will be beautiful! I have a total of 46 blocks for june.
Guess i am not sure what i got done. I finished a small lap quilt for my husband – brown blocks surrounded by blue ones, that form a heart shape. Then i zigzagged hearts signed by friends all over it. It is quilted & bound and now covers him with love in his care facility. It goes from his bed to wheelchair as needed.
None for me and it will probably be October before I get to sew on quilt blocks again. So looking forward to it. Have been making some great memories and one trip was with our 10 year old granddaughter. My husband has recovered from his fall this spring, but still working on the things from the old trailer, which happens to be in the way of my sewing machine.
So glad you are getting moved!
I don’t think I made any blocks in June. My sheet is in YX and I’m in OK. I report all in July although I may not get any sewing done in July Either. Still moving plus I sprained my leg just above the ankle.
Oh Shelly, You are closer to being all moved in and ready for the final touches. All one floor cannot be beat. You will certainly enjoy that.
Great-grandbaby #21 is due in a couple of weeks, November will bring #22 and they all have toddler size quilts.
I made 48 blocks in June.
I had 14 for June. Most of the month was working on the “Seal” quilt, which is basically one big block. I’m already almost past that block number for July – woohoo! Glad you are slowly getting moved in to your new, beautiful space! I’m so excited for you!
Not too much sewing this month. 4 Birthday Bocks, 2 Riley Blake mystery blocks, 12 Summer Block Party blocks and 4 in a patriotic project I made. That is 22 this month. Your sewing space looks great so far. Can’t wait to see it done!
98 Blocks for the month, 97 were 4 patch blocks and 1 was a bird block, testing before cutting out and making the other 29. I got sidetracked on making fabric bowls.
Just the remaining 7 put a ring on it blocks for me. I did get it all put together which definitely took time.
I got a spring mystery quilted and bound and am working on another one that you may be somewhat familiar with for July 🙂
My experience with moving between places that are close to each other is that the last few items take twice as long as the first 95%!
I love your view!!
Yeesh, I just noticed that I totally forgot to report in, looks like since March! Oops. I’ve been making blocks every month, so I’ll update all here.
April – 60
May – 44
June – 48
I completed 44 blocks in June.
Your view looks beautiful! Can’t wait to see the finished studio📍
I had 53 blocks. Mainly from a catch up job with the Piece and Quilt Sew-a-long by Susan Ache from the book Celebrate with Quilts. The other half are from Leader and Enders 9 patches. So enjoy keeping track.
It’s no wonder you didn’t get any blocks sewn, moving is such a big job! You will be in heaven once you get all settled, then watch Shelly go!
I don’t know where the month went. I spent most of time making backings and kits for the church quilt group. Didn’t realize that I hadn’t worked on much of my own stuff…I need to balance that better. I did bind a few small quilts.
Only 2 hand sewn blocks for me.
Debbi
I missed May but it didn’t matter! May =0! Did better in June =34!
Happy move! Looking forward to seeing more about your new space. I know it’s hard work but it will be so worth it!
Not a single block was made in June. But, I quilted and bound four twin size quilts.
I have 10 blocks for the month of June. I moved all my Christmas “stuff” upstairs two years ago as those stairs were getting old! It’s funny, 13 years ago we thought it would be good exercise…still have to use the stairs – just no longer have to carry anything heavier than a cup of coffee! Looking forward to seeing your new studio put together!
June was a very productive month, with 123 blocks made. The majority of those were for the new Lighthouse Inn mystery by Modern Quilt Studio. I also finished one quilt and made one quilt top.
Moving is not fun; you’ll be happy when it is done. I can’t wait to see your new studio!
Well, like you I didn’t get a lot of sewing done in June. One of my kids had a big graduation party, so that took up much of my time. And we had some unseasonably hot and very humid temps for a week and a half, which always zaps my energy. I made 1 block in June. But I’ve already topped that in July. 😉 I hope that your move goes smoothly and that you can get some time to sew this month!
27 for me in June.
How exciting to get a fresh start in your sewing room! (a positive way to look at it!)
8 blocks done. Sounds like great progress on your move!
I managed my typical 5 blocks this month.
I can’t imagine moving after living in a house for a very long time. It’s way more then a chore. I’m sure it will be well worth it after all is said and done.
I made 294 blocks in June and sandwiched, quilted and bound 2 others. My quilts are lap quilts so about1/3 the size of a bed quilt.
58 – hooray! You are making so much progress in your move. I’m very happy for you and can’t wait to see pictures of your new spaces when it’s the right time.
I sewed 138 blocks in June for a YTD total of 357. I had cataract surgery on my right eye yesterday and the left eye will be done on the 30th. Once that’s done and I have my new glasses, I’m hoping to be able to sew on black again!
I love the view from your longarm!
I machine quilted 4 quilts this past month. So the basting and binding put my block count down to 26.
I had a whopping four blocks. Too much time doing yard work, gardening and pitting cherries. And I’ve had to do lots more babysitting than usual. Hopefully July will be better for both of us. Have fun getting your new house all set up!
I made 21 blocks this month!!!
16 for me – all for two baby quilts. Since these were simple blocks I counted the rows instead of the blocks.
I managed to make 39 blocks in June. Your new place is going to be perfect!
Total for June: 16. I did finish three small quilt tops for my fce group to quilt and sell for fundraising money. The money will be given to our charity projects.
I made 36 blocks in June for a ytd total of 356. I made it. Let’s see if I can double it the end of the year.

Your new sewing space looks wonderful, and even better is the view out the window. Enjoy it once you finish moving.
15 blocks for me. Good that you’re settling into your new space.
moving is such a big job. I can only imagi e as I havent moved in over 35 years.
i started making a trip around the world in May and finished the basic top in June. I still need to add borders . There are 2793 pieces 1.5″ each! To decide on blocks, I decided to divide the number by 20, as I felt that 20 pieces per block was a fair number. that gives me 140 blocks. I also worked on some random kaffe fassett blocks as therapeutic sewing, still getting over the loss of our 17 year old 4 legged Oreo. I believe there are 49 of those. So a huge number of 189 blocks for June!
Love the windows right by your LA!
Just 15 for me. What can I say? It’s summer…but I miss my quilt time!
WOW! a huge 26 blocks for June. Actually, have got a lot done, just didn’t involve making blocks. Two of four small commemorative wall hanging sized quilts are completed, two more sock monkeys, two large quilts bound, and fabric to fill two very large shelving units unpacke, sorted, folded and put up. SEW nice to see my fabric (at least some of it) again and got really brutal about what are scraps to give to local guild and QOV makers. Hang in there with the moving. It is an unstated law that it takes, at minimum, 10x longer than planned to relocate even if it just across the yard . . . just like working on computers.
Only 16 blocks for June. Hope to be better in July. Trying to finish up some things this month.
139 blocks in June.
Jumping June brought 103 blocks for me. Being out of school and some very hot weather gave me more time inside and sewing. Looking forward to some finishes in July.
I produced 54 blocks in June
I finished 108 blocks in June! Maybe it will help me catch up. I made 10 blocks for our virtual group’s Tula Pink 100 blocks quilt-along, 98 blocks for the two Windowpane Patchwork “Blooms” quilts I’m making for my other brother and sister-in-law. After I finish and mail off those 2 quilts, l will be done making quilts for all my siblings!
Ooh I had to count mine a few times in case I missed on. I have a grand total of . . . 5! I haven’t done much sewing at all last month. Still, have had yuk weather so I’m back piecing this month!
Again, apologies for another really late post. In June, I completed 3 blocks. My total thus far: 26 blocks.
I did 54 blocks in June. Not too bad for a summer month.
There wasn’t much sewing done this month but I did get about half of my sewing area cleaned and sorted…still a ways to go but I’ll get it done! I think my big total was 15 blocks for June.
