Creativity Challenge #28

Posted on November 10, 2016 by prairiemoonquilts in Creativity Challenges

I hope you’ve spent the last few weeks teaching yourself something new that you wanted to learn. I still haven’t finished my cow and calf pictorial piece, but I have watched more videos — some about drawing, but mostly about different free-motion quilting designs.

I still haven’t had much time for drawing, painting, doodling, or much of anything else that isn’t quilting (or a remodeling project), but I hope to be able to get back to it soon.

To that end, I’m offering up a new challenge for us this week.

Remember that page of random words we did clear back in January?

Here’s mine:

randomwords

This week, I want you to choose a word (or words) that you wrote during that exercise, and:

Illustrate a word three different ways

Make a picture out of your word.
Make a poster from your word.
Turn your word into a greeting card or postcard.

Or simply illustrate your word three different ways on one sheet of paper.
Or illustrate three different words.

I think I’m going to start with the word “sweet” from mine above.

You can use any medium you want. I’m planning to sketch mine out in pencil, then either ink or paint them, or both! It’s a way to practice drawing letters, and to play around with different coloring methods for what you’ve drawn, without having to think too hard about the subject matter.

What word will YOU choose?
