Craft in America

Craft in America on PBS is airing an episode on QUILTS!

Tonight!

You’ll have to check your local listings for the time. The episode features 4 quilters, each with a very different style, and also features the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska, and some of the things they do. I think it’s wonderful for the quilting world to get this type of recognition, and the episode is very nicely done!

But here’s the most exciting part for me . . .

One of the featured quilters is my best friend, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, so I actually got to see a lot of my work in the episode — what a thrill!

Here’s a little sneak peek of one of the quilts that I quilted that is in the episode:

Back in November, I got to attend an invitation-only pre-screening of the episode at the International Quilt Museum . . . aren’t I special? Actually, it’s good I got to do that, because we don’t have TV here on the ol’ ranch.

So if you don’t have TV, either, you can still see the episode online after the initial airing. There are also some shorts that aren’t in the episode (little extras) that you can see at the website. For more details on that, visit Victoria’s post HERE.

And when you hear my name mentioned, you can let out a little “squeeeee” for me, OK?

UPDATE: If you couldn’t catch it on the airing date, you can watch it HERE online.

So bummed – the episode of Crafters in America is not listed in our TV listings in the paper or on the TV to be shown on PBS tonight. Hope it eventually shows up somewhere so I can watch (and hear your name Shelly).

Looks like it will air here on Sunday, so I am hoping to watch! You know I’ll be cheering for both you and Victoria 🙂

It’s airing here (Chattanooga) tonight/early morning at 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. I guess in case I fall asleep by 1, I can get up and watch it at 2!! I see Ken Burns is also on it. If anyone doesn’t know about his amazing collection of quilts, I hope there is a showing of at least some of it. He is one of the largest collectors, outside of museums, in the country.

You can watch these PBS shows most any time. Here is a link https://video.aptv.org/video/quilts-episode-yhkwcj/ for the quilt show. It is not even necessary to sign in.
