Chuck Wagon’s Flooring Emporium

I think all the remodeling is getting to me. I dreamed last night that I was shopping at a place called Chuck Wagon’s Flooring Emporium. Seriously?!?!

If I find out there actually IS such a place, I’ll be floored . . .

OK, maybe I got up a bit too early this morning.

But before I was awake, when I was done shopping at Chuck’s, I went to a quilt retreat being held in a school gymnasium somewhere, and they made us check in our sewing machines, and then fed us pizza through a buffet line, which we had to eat with dirty forks.

I’m not sure what it means that my friend, Rose Marie, was there, and said it was perfectly OK, “go right ahead”, yet she wasn’t in line herself. She was hanging back drinking coffee (from a clean cup, no doubt) . . . hmm . . . suspicious, I say.

And to top it off, my fellow guild member, Scarlett, was there wearing a hat she had made herself. I must say, her ability to create headgear out of pantyhose and yarn in a combination of knit, crochet, and weaving was astonishing! And her attention to detail . . . she had even put a button and buttonhole on the chin straps so it could be fastened on.

Should I be leery of my next quilting retreat?

Thankfully, I was awakened by the thunk of Bonnie’s headstall landing on the bed next to me, and My Cowboy shouting “Up and at ’em!”

I fumble my way through the house to see my horse, already saddled, standing by the back door waiting for me. There was nothing to do but get dressed and climb on. So I did.

And I’m glad I did. If I hadn’t, I’d have missed out on this:juneview

It’s sure a beautiful morning around here. PeeWee didn’t want to be left behind . . .PeeWee

. . . so we let him go with us.PeeWeeview

Is he spoiled? Yes.PeenChip

Do I care? No. He’s my baby. And he decided he didn’t want to bring up the rear, so he squeezed into the middle slot. Funny boy!PeeWeesandwich

By the time we got back to the house, we had a parade of barn cats following, and when we got closer, all the kittens came out to see what was going on, too. Nothing like getting the entire farm involved in your morning rounds . . . Even the cows thought we’d been gone long enough and came to make sure they were still gonna get breakfast.

Everybody’s fed and happy, and now I’m hoping to get some quilting done.

Tonight, I’m off to my guild meeting for real. We’re having a potluck dinner, so I hope we get clean silverware to eat with, and Scarlett, please leave your new hat at home!

Can’t wait to hear about or actually see the remodeling. Delores and I will be there soon I hope. I’m done with doctoring for awhile now. It is so good to know the Bocke homeplace is being loved. Your pictures are so calming.

Oh Shelly! I’m literally rolling on the floor laughing!! What a way to start the morning. No fancy headgear tonight, I promise! And I thought I was the only one who had strange dreams. Too funny!

I think it must have something to do with the moon being at its ever closest proximity to the earth……….don’t know how often it happens, but this month is one of those times. I am having strange dreams also this week. However, mine don’t even make this much sense. I will be eating with clean silverware and drinking with clean cups tonight at the potluck. Well, if Kay picks up all the guild picnic supplies from all the various people who have it. Note to self: never volunteer to be the vice president of anything. You get stuck with every job that no one else wants to do because you only have to do something if the president isn’t there. Yeah!! Right!!

And, what did you have to eat before you went to bed last night?

  5. Susan says:

I don’t think you have to watch out for the retreat. Just figure out what made you have weird dreams! LOL Great morning ride, it looks like.

/Did you get your sewing machine after you checked it in to what ever i would be more worried about that than eating the pizza with dirty froks pizza is finger food. Charlie picked up the plates, forks etc from Alice husband dental office today so you can take your chances tonight.

  7. So funny. Maybe it’s a sign that you are supposed to open a flooring shop. LOL!!! I’m so jealous of your morning rounds. Sigh. I miss being on the back of a horse sometimes! And I love it when all the animals come out to see what’s going on.
