Chariton Samplers

Posted on October 12, 2016 by prairiemoonquilts in My Patterns

This is my third year in a row designing the Block-of-the-Month quilts for Sew Sweet Quilt Shop’s annual Saturday Sampler club. This year’s club is called “It Takes Five!”, and I once again designed a sampler quilt in a traditional version and another in a more modern version.

Here’s the Traditional version, Chariton Sampler. The traditional version measures 84″ x 108″, and features the 12 sampler blocks in a straight setting with Flying Geese sashing.

The modern version, Chariton Medallion, has the blocks set into a color-wheel arrangement on a light gray background, and it measures 80″ x 80″. There is a larger color-wheel star in the center of the medallion, which is an extra block pattern in the booklet.

Since the Medallion version only uses 8 of the 12 Sampler blocks, I’ve also included patterns for a table runner:

cstablerunner

. . . and a pillow:

cspillow

. . . to use up those extra blocks!

The pattern is available only through Sew Sweet Quilt Shop, so either drop into the shop to get your copy, or check them out online and I’m sure they can ship it to you!

And it’s still not too late to sign up for their It Takes Five! Club, and do it as a Block-of-the-Month through the shop. They’ll ship you the monthly installments, or you can attend the meetings every second Saturday at the shop for lots of fun activities, and a chance at some really awesome prizes, and pick up your blocks in person each month. Here — I’ll make it easy for you. Their phone number is 660.548.3056. Just give them a call, and sign up!

Boy, you’ve been a busy lady! I’d have a difficult time choosing between the two; they are both beautiful! I’m thinking of your organization posts as I’m clearing out my quilt room today. Some “forced organization” due to new flooring going in. Haha.

WOW, I really love both. It is a lovely BOM. ( PS I am hammering out blocks this month. LOL

Fall has hit Maine really hard and each window in my house looks out on trees that are in flaming fall colors.

I like both settings. What fun to be the designer of the BOM for the shop!
