Candy Hearts

I have a new free pattern for you today! Just in time for Valentine’s Day, you can whip up this little Candy Hearts throw for your favorite Valentine!

ground

It’s made using charm squares of Dear Stella Polka Dots, but you could use scraps in any candy colors to make yours. It finishes at 54″ x 63″. You could always add more squares and make it bigger!

URCute

I used every color of Dear Stella Polka Dots, except for the three darkest blues and the darkest gray.

Sweet

My big red heart is made from their Confetti Dots print.

Love

I even used their Polka Dots for the binding! It’s a bright, happy, candy-colored, polka-dot bonanza!

KissMe

The little hearts are appliqued on, then the words are embroidered on top of them. You could choose the quicker route and ink your letters on with a fabric marker, too!

Crazy4u

With all the colors of a bag of candy hearts, it’s a bright shot of color in the middle of winter. My world has been looking pretty gray lately, so working on this happy, bright quilt was fun.

TrueLove

I quilted my quilt with a pantograph called “Sonnet” by Patricia E. Ritter and Valerie Smith. You can get the panto here, if you’re interested: Urban Elementz.

You can download the free Candy Hearts pattern HERE. Or find it on my Free Patterns page anytime.

Dear Stella has a new collection out called Love Letter, and it would work great for this pattern, too.

They also have two new free patterns out as well, that you might like:

Heart to Heart

Charmer

I know, I know, too many quilts — not enough time, right?

That is adorable. Doubt I’ll get to it this year, but it is a possibility for next year. 🙂

  3. So cute! I’ll be making one but smaller for our baby quilts. Thanks! PS – do you or anyone know of a white marker to write the words on some of the squares?

  4. Susan says:

How cute that is! Thanks for sharing it. I know I won’t get it done this year (I’m way too slow!), but I might make a baby quilt size this summer as part of my year of baby quilts.
