Brunswick Forest, Block Six

Here we are at the halfway point already!

We’re having another break from the triangles this month. Block Six is called Tree of Temptation, and it uses three prints with the background instead of only two.

Here’s Block 6 in the fall-colored version. Very nice fall colors in this one.

Here’s the non-traditional color. I used a bit larger-scale print in this one this time, since it would show up.

And here’s my scrappy one. This month’s color is blue!

This one is so easy, it’s living up to its name and really tempting me, because it’s another one I’d consider making an entire quilt out of. However, remember me saying that last month about the Evergreen block?

Well, I decided that if I just sew up lots of bonus triangles — you know, those triangles that you trim off of other blocks during construction, but you just hate to throw them away — I could make a super scrappy quilt, and that might be fun. So . . . I’ve started making little triangle squares and throwing them in a basket, as a leader/ender project, and soon, maybe I’ll start making some trees. I’ll keep you posted on that!

Or if you use this month’s block for an entire quilt, you could use up lots of scrap squares and it would be even quicker and easier to make an entire scrap quilt!

Not to mention . . . the pieces are so small, you could use up a lot of ugly scraps and it will still make a gorgeous scrap quilt! Just sayin’ . . .

   I did have fun making this quilt. I enjoyed it so much that I finished it since I didn’t do it as a BOM and used my scraps. If I didn’t have so many other quilts I want to make, I would make another one. I may do that anyway!

   I hope to see that hst tree soon. I just can’t imagine it. I have a bunch of those bonus hst sewn. I use them as leaders/enders…hmmmm.
