August 350 Blocks Report

Posted on August 31, 2014 by prairiemoonquilts in 350 Blocks Project

I can’t believe August is already over!

Can you tell I’ve been busy? I’ve hardly blogged at all . . .

And it certainly hasn’t been that I’ve been working on my own quilts much at all, either.

I made a whoppin’ NINE blocks this month — that’s it. But it did break me over the 300 mark, finally. Some months are just slow goin’.

One of my blocks was for the block exchange at guild, and I forgot to take a picture of it. The other 8 are for a quilt I’ll be showing you real soon. I’ve been doing a lot of writing, which means lots of good things should come out of the hopper real soon . . .

One of the things I have been doing when I get the chance is playing in this pile of bright scrappy goodness right here:

Scraps

The real truth is, I’ve been working on my studio remodel, which I’ll be showing you soon, I hope, and in between, I’ve been trying to keep up with quilting for other people. It’s tough, and as usual, I’m behind on everything.

How about you? Have you been busy, too? Busy with Quilting? Or busy with all the other stuff, like me?

It’s time to report in and let everyone know what you’ve been up to. I hope you’ve been getting more sewing time than I have. Leave us a comment, or a link, or email me and let me know. I’ll get the page updated as I can.

The new goal is set for September — we’re on the downhill slide now, and it’s picking up speed! For September, we’ll do 30 more blocks, for a year-to-date total of 260.

And since I never drew a July prize winner yet, here’s the July winner:

Cathy P.

Woohoo! Cathy is up to 444 blocks so far — well over the 350, but I’m anxious to see just how many she ends up with — I know she’s been working on stuff!

Wishing you all happy September stitching!

Finished the lap quilts for the cancer center. 3 in all. don’t know how to count jelly roll quilts so I won’t. 2 of them. I did 1 twin for an oncology patient. That is 10 blocks wide and 17 blocks long. They are 4 1/2 inch blocks. 170? I think. But that is part of July and August. Now working on things I want to try. Hexies. I’ve cut out 3500. Yup 3500 over 3 weeks.. So maybe I won’t do an actual quilt for a while. I am just enjoying doing the hexagons. 2 1/2″.. Good work you all..
