Just in case you are running out of things to do, I thought I’d pop on today with a few links to some fun stuff I’ve run across lately. While I wish I personally had time to do all of these things my ownself, I’m pretty sure it won’t happen, but that ain’t stoppin’ me from sharing all this with you! So read on for some fun new projects, and see if there’s anything you’d like to join in on!
Temecula Quilt Company has just started a Down Home Darling quilt-along, to make the most wonderful Log Cabin quilt from scraps, inspired by an antique quilt she purchased a while back. I’m seriously thinking about doing this one, just to use up some scraps, and because I’ve been wanting to make a quilt like this. I may pull some fabrics for it this weekend. I’m gonna start by raiding my string bucket for some starter pieces. Wanna join in? Click HERE.
If you like making zipper pouches, your search for the perfect pattern can end right here. The Sewing Loft has gathered over 100 FREE zipper pouch patterns all in one place! If you’re in need of items for a school or church bazaar, a guild event, or simply for gift-giving, this is a fabulous resource. Click HERE to browse them all. She’s also hosting a zipper bag swap that you can still get in on, if you’re interested, so go check her out.
If you’re a knitter, then you might like this one . . . it’s a knitted Scrubby pattern. While I haven’t tried it yet, I fully intend to very soon. I found some Scrubby yarn the other day, so I’m anxious to make some for me and my sister to see if they work!
Suzy Quilts has a free pillow pattern just posted, which you can find HERE. She also offers a quilt pattern for sale that matches it, if you get really ambitious!
And . . . she just yesterday started a Quilt-Along that you might be interested in. You can find it HERE, and still get in on that.
So I hope that keeps you busy for a while. Happy Stitching!
How funny! I just ordered a skein of cotton SCRUBBY on Amazon. I usually get the “bug” to knit when the weather cools and I almost always refresh my dish cloth supply. I saw this and also a pattern for a dish scrubbie, so thought I’d give it a try. I’d also like to add one quickie project. I made it yesterday and it is sew fast and sew cute. It is Easy Baskets by sewcanshe and is made from four 10″ squares. There is a very clever way to sew the lining so the typical baggy bottoms doesn’t happen. If you go to her website it pops up on the home page or go to her Free Patterns and select Crazy Little Things to Sew. I think a few in Halloween “costume” (aka fabric from my Halloween stash) need to be made. Will check out your other suggestions. I always like something that is fun and fast.
Yes, I have started Down Home Darling!
Funny, just finished Suzy Quilts “thrive” pattern and started on the Down Home Darling! (Which I did NOT need another project……but!!)
