Do you have your June 2019 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting yet?
I got mine in the mail a couple weeks ago, and it’s chock full of wonderful quilty goodness. The cover quilt is fabulous!
Best of all, there’s a quilt in this issue made by my bestie, Victoria Findlay Wolfe!
It’s called “Now and Then”, and it’s a great quilt she re-imagined based off of a vintage quilt from her collection.
I had the honor of getting to quilt this one for her!
I put super simple quilting on it, trying to make each snowball or bunch of snowballs look like flowers! Here’s a shot of it while it was on my frame:
If you haven’t gotten your copy of this magazine yet, I encourage you to pick one up — there’s a quilt in there by another one of my favorite designers, Susan Ache. I love everything she does. If you haven’t found this girl yet, you need to check her out on Instagram here: yardgrl60. She also does gorgeous cross-stitch, and following her is how I got hooked on my latest cross-stitch endeavor! (I also want her new book! Go check her out.)
Love this quilt and your quilting! Now I need to pick up the magazine. I recently got back into cross stitch also, so much as it comes before quilting.
I love this quilt!!! And I am so delighted to see your name in print, Shelly, with the credit for the quilting. I got excited the day my copy arrived and I saw this.
So awesome! Great job Shelly! You’re so famous!!!
How fun is this?! You two make such a great team!
Did some similar quilting on the same block a while back; but, wasn’t happy w/the thread buildup in the center. I really like your approach to this problem and will try it on another one waiting to “go under the needle.” Thanks for the solution!!
Congrats, Shelly. Your quilting is exquisite.
