Last month, I announced my newest pattern to members of the Cowgirl Club. Now that they’ve had first crack at it, I finally have it ready to be shown to the rest of the world!
It’s called AmpersAnd . . .
Back last winter, when it was so cold, I pulled out a bunch of sunny, happy fabrics from my stash, just to cheer myself up while waiting for spring. Using them in easy chunks, just squares and rectangles, I pieced together a random scrappy quilt top.
But it needed something more . . .
One day I was standing in the middle of a gift shop, and noticed that ampersands were everywhere — they must be the new decorating thing!
I knew right then that was what my quilt needed — a great big ampersand — and so the AmpersAnd quilt was born!
It measures 56″ x 70″, a good throw size. I think it would make a fabulous quilt to snuggle under while reading, don’t you?
Choose your favorite color palette for the base, and then pick a nice contrasting piece for your ampersand. It’s a great way to use up scraps!
The pattern is available in both a print version and a PDF version in my Etsy shop. It comes with complete, easy-to-follow cutting and piecing instructions, and a full-sized template for the applique.
Cowgirl Club members got a copy of this pattern in their packets this time, along with some bonus art to use for making a cowboy/cowgirl version of the quilt, that is only available to Cowgirl Club members.
Nice. I like it!
I love it! What a great idea!
