500 seems to be the magical number around here lately. But someone needs to stop me before I eat my 500th Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Seriously. Or 500 will also be the magical number on my scale.
Today’s 500 refers to the new book out by LARK Publishing called “500 Traditional Quilts”. It’s a wonderful coffee-table book featuring gorgeous photos of 500 traditional quilts made by 261 quilters from all over the world.
The quilts were juried for the book by Karey Bresenhan, Founder of the International Quilt Festival, and I can only imagine what a tough job it was to choose the 500 that are included in this book.
I’m telling you about this book because I have a quilt featured in it! My quilt, Passion’s Flowers, a Rose of Sharon Sampler quilt I made for my daughter, is on page 296. I’m quite honored to have had a quilt chosen, and I’m in really good company, as there are lots of famous quilters featured in this book.
The book is chock full of eye candy, and is super inspiring to just sit and look at. I’ve already spent way too much time just poring over the pages. I can’t put it down! The color, the design, the inspiration!
If you’re going to International Quilt Festival in Houston next week (or Quilt Market later this week), there is a special exhibit of a selection of quilts from the book on display there, so be sure and go through it. See all that eye candy up close and personal!
And you can get your own copy of the book right HERE.
