Time to announce the winners! Altho . . . I say we are ALL winners just for doing the tasks, because we now have a fresh start on the new year, and it always feels so good!
Personally, I’m not a huge winner, because I failed at some of the tasks. I DID work on paper clutter, but as usual, still have a long way to go.
I did not get my ironing board cover changed, because I discovered that with my still-not-recovered broken elbow, I can’t run the staple gun! So . . . I’m hoping to swindle My Cowboy into helping me with it over the weekend.
I also have not yet mopped my longarm room floor, but does thinking about it count? Also something I hope to get done over the weekend.
I DID start cleaning off the shelves above my mailing counter, but I’m not finished yet. I got rid of some items, and am rearranging what’s left to be more convenient to use. I will love it when I’m done.
Reorganizing my bookcase also turned into a bigger undertaking than I intended, so that’s an ongoing project, too. I’ll show you why when I get it finished. Everything I do these days is much slower, due to having to do it with either one arm or my non-dominant arm (not to mention frustrating, too).
Still, progress was made, and I’m happy with that, and I’ll keep working on it. I got all my calendars changed out, my planner notebook cleaned out and reset for this year, my longarm schedule updated and ready to go, and I emptied the scrap basket on my cutting table — twice! So I have no shortage of things to keep working on throughout the year. I also grocery shopped, took the cat to the vet, and quilted a customer quilt and three charity quilts this week, so that might be why I didn’t have time to complete many of the other tasks!
I’ll post some before and afters hopefully next week, so you can see what I managed to get done.
I absolutely LOVED hearing about all the tasks you decided on for yourself, and how you were handling all the tasks that I handed out. I felt good for you all, just hearing about what you got done, because I know what a good feeling it is to have done tasks that we keep putting off, or finish something we’ve procrastinated on. So I hope it helped you out with a fresh start. I know it gave me some ideas for other things I need to do!
And now . . . about those prize winners . . .
The prize for Task One goes to: Jocelyn
The prize for Task Two goes to: Barbara W.
The prize for Task Three goes to: Beverly V.
Thanks to each and every one of you for playing along, commenting, reading, and DOING the tasks! We’ll do it again at the end of this year!
And . . . I’m continuing the regularly scheduled Studio Organizing Challenges, so be sure and check in next week for our first one of those!
Congratulations to the winners. And thank you Shelley for spurring us on! I for one always need a kick in the rear when it comes to things like this!
Thank you Shelly for your motivation and encouragement. I am looking forward to see my prize. I did not get a lot of blocks made in 2021, however I did get a lot of cleaning done. Finished an UFO for one of the challenges and am ready to start another UFO. Hopefully I will get it done this coming week. I also hope to start back up on my scrap quilt and be able to make some blocks this month.
My paper sorting/thining is an ongoing project. But i did go thru all my projects and put into an order i want to try to get them done. Feel good because am working on some old ones. Thanks for the focus.
Shelly-
Just wondering if you have worked with your signature blocks. Would love to see progress on that project.
Doreen
Shelly it is a true inspiration following your blog. Would it be terrible to say you have helped me retrain myself so well that I seldom have any organizing chores to do 😉
Hope your elbow and arm settle down soon so you can get back to doing everything. I’d say reading your list of accomplishments you still manage more than most of us in a week or month. Customer quilts one armed? I’m truly amazed 😁
Congrats to all and you are right everyone is a winner…..keep it up and we will not know what to do with everything done….lol….
happy quilting everyone…..and in Missouri it is a good weekend to be making blocks and such….
Congrats to the Winners! Shelly you are so good to keep us organized and have give sways.
I only posted day one, but I downsized a few books (10) too. Sewed 3 borders on a quilt, finished quilting a Community Comfort quilt and now tacking binding.
Congratulations to the winners. Shelly thanks for all your great posts.
Congratulations to the winners! I feel like a winner too, spurred on by Shelly’s prompts! Thanks Shelly! You should feel good with the progress you made too. I started a 100 things list again thanks to you…oh dear!🤪It doesn’t have many sewing related tasks yet, but there is room. I’d love to see those other tasks that keep me from sewing get done tho.
Congrats to the winners! I agree, we’re all winners 🙂 Shelly, I’d definitely give you a point for thinking about mopping your longarm room floor…considering your obstacles, you should get a pass. I think this was the first time I joined this Countdown Challenge…I know for sure it’s the first time I completed all the tasks. It’s good to have a little push sometimes. Now on to the new year…I’m starting my blocks early for the 350 challenge, and I’ve already got a couple of UFOs set aside to finish for the UFO Challenge.
Congratulations to all the winners. Happy New Year!
Congrats to the winners, but we are all winners. Any small task done is better than none at all. Thanks for helping focus us this time of year.
My paperwork is still needing help. 🙁 Will it ever end?
