It’s out! Volume 9 is now available. That makes 100 new original quilt block patterns that you can add to your quilting repertoire, and they are wonderful!QMVol9

I was once again a tester for Volume 9, and I got to work with lots of cute blocks.

I’ll show you a few that I did.

This one is by Desiree Habicht, called “The Queen”. Naturally, I had to make mine in the colors of our very own Queen here in this house.TheQueen

And here is “Spring Smile”, by Joanne Rowicki, of The Gingham Girls:JoAnneRowicki

I did a few paper-foundation-pieced blocks. This one is “Triangle Tricks”, by Barbara Cline:BarbaraCline

And this one is by Elizabeth Dackson, of Don’t Call Me Betsy, called “Rubik’s Star”:ElizabethDackson

And this one is called “Tangled”, and it’s by Kristy Lea:KristyLea

This block used some English paper piecing, which I love, so it was fun. It’s called “Get in Gear”, by Carol Le Maitre:CarolLeMaitre

Here’s one with applique and embroidery, with some piecing thrown in for good measure. “Hawaiian Morning”, by Jo Moury:JoMoury

Kathy Schmitz’s block also combined applique and piecing, and I love this one. It’s called “Blue Star Bloom”:KathySchmitz

Here’s a really quick one to piece that would make a really terrific quilt when you put a bunch of them together. It’s called “Building Blocks”, and it’s by Celine Perkins:CelinePerkins

Here’s another one I really liked and had fun making. “Starlet” by Rebecca Silbaugh, of Ruby Blue Quilting Studio:RebeccaSilbaugh

Here’s a good one for if you’re involved with making quilts for veterans or soldiers. “Banner Day” by Chris Hoover:ChrisHoover

And I tested “Fade In”, by Peg Spradlin:PegSpradlin

I really had fun with this set of blocks. I’m not sure what I’ll do with all my finished ones, but I do already have plans for some of them. Perhaps a cat bed for our Queen here using “The Queen” block?

Not to mention, there are several more in the issue that I’m really wanting to try out, so I may end up with even more blocks before I’m done!

QuiltMaker is hosting a blog tour all week long, with lots of give-aways going on, where you can visit the blogs of some of the block designers and win lots of goodies. You need to click HERE to find out about that and get your name in the pot! So have fun looking around and visiting the designers, and good luck winning some prizes!
