Can you believe it’s the end of November already??
We’re getting our first snow today:

The goats are not impressed. The sheep and horses don’t even realize it’s snowing. And Shadow, the black lab, is loving every second of it! I think it’s pretty, as long as I don’t have to get out in it.
My plan is to stay inside and sew all weekend. This bright and happy customer quilt I have on my frame right now should keep me cheered up!

I made 124 blocks in November. Not as many as I should have or could have, even tho I felt like I was sewing quite a bit, but I really only had about 3 weeks of sewing. This week was taken up with lots of other errands and family stuff, which I didn’t mind at all. I really needed a few days off.
I made another Bunting Block:

I made 2 more blocks for my Limerick quilt, 2 more blocks for my Made & Found quilt, 5 more blocks for the wedding quilt I’m late with, 1 more Improv Herringbone block, and when I renewed my AQS membership, they sent back with my card this pre-cut quilt block, so I sewed it up real quick. Probly gonna stick it in an orphan block quilt someday!

But the bulk of my blocks this time — 112 is how I’m counting them — were for this giant Double Wedding Ring quilt I made for my cousins to gift to their daughter for her wedding. Here’s a sneak peek of it, and I’ll tell you more about it next week, cos you really need to see it!

And now, once again, it’s your turn! What all did you get done in November? Time to report in with your totals. I didn’t get everyone responded to last month — I ended up short on time and the month got away from me. But do know that I read them all, even if I don’t get the time to reply.
I have the Project page updated with what I knew as of yesterday, and our new block total for December will get us to the 350 mark: only 18 blocks for December! I wanted this to be an easy month for us, because I’m certainly intending to take it easy this month!
The prize winner for October is Louise. I was seriously impressed when she announced last month that she is hand quilting a quilt — makes me want to get my hand-quilting frame set back up for the winter!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I made pecan pies and took to my sister’s house. So much good food, and I didn’t even eat any pie! Have I mentioned how much I love my new kitchen? I actually have counter space now!

I also hope you have a lovely December, and a wonderful holiday season, however you celebrate. And don’t forget! — at the end of the month, we’ll once again be doing The Final Countdown, so be sure and get in on that. It’s such a fun way to get the new year started off with a clean slate.
Love your Double Wedding Ring quilt! Best wishes as you work on it. In November, I made only 10 blocks, but each block was a large needle turn appliqué block so I was very pleased to make that many blocks.
Only one block this month.
Hi, Maine got Snow and Snow Thunder Thursday night and our pup was beside himself between the thunder and the snow sliding off the roof!! I completed (4 )25 in blocks of Elizabeth Hartman quilt. The walrus, seal,Musk ox, and Polar bear. Boy these blocks are teaching me things…I have other random blocks for donation quilts of 25. … A total of 29…
Zero blocks for me in November. I was still working in my garden 2 weeks ago! We did get a dusting of snow today. Hope to get back in my sewing room in December – I have some funky friends to make for my grandkids for Christmas.
November was a retreat month plus then finishing up several projects for Christmas. My total was 412 for November!! (did I mention that nothing much else got done? LOL)
I didn’t get a lot of blocks made in November but enoough to keep me ahead of the calendar days. 29 blocks for November.
It’s important to have counter space and my daughter has the same kind of containers that you have. Very easy for numb fingers to open. Enjoy your new kitchen.
I spent a few days on my machine making blocks for 2 exchanges I participate in and worked on my BOM’s for the past two months so I had a total of 75 blocks. It was good to just sit and sew.
I made 94 blocks during November for a YTD total of 855.
Only 9 blocks for me this month. I have 18 grandchildren and I made a twin size quilt for each of them. They live in 3 different states, so I Skyped with each family so the kids could choose their own quilt. I made 21 quilts in the last 2 years and delivered all of them when we had our annual Thanksmas gathering last weekend. Three of my kids claimed the 3 remaining quilts.
I made 94 blocks during November, fora YTD total of 855.
I sewed 14 blocks this month. I did cut and sew 64 -2”hsts but didn’t get they sewn into blocks, I will be doing that in December. It’s snowing here and cold 🥶
I went away retreating in the forest, and made lots of blocks to complete sets for a few different projects.
Total of 137.
The double wedding ring is lovely!
Most of my month has been taken up with piecing a backing for my wagon wheels top from the remaining shirting that I was given. It’s taking a lot longer than I anticipated and I’m not really sure how to count these wonky pseudo log cabins as I’m putting them together as I go to make fabric. I’ll just ignore those.
73 County Clare blocks made as leaders and enders, though. Progress! I have 116 so far toward the 141 I need.
I am looking forward to hearing more about the double wedding ring quilt and seeing the rest of it! I finished 20 blocks in November.
Are your cabinets hickory? I have hickory cabinets, too, and I just love them.
This is my smallest yearly total ever so far…and not long to go…
I did 6 blocks this month but did get two big wall hangings together. Lots of appliqué and the last of 6 with a zillion pieces to make squirrels!
I’m with the goats…I don’t like cold and snow either!
6 blocks is all I got made this month and they happened on the first! I do have blocks under construction but my motivation froze up and migrated away. I also went deer hunting this month, canned 4 quarts of stew, and started quilting a quilt for my husband. I am ready for warmer weather! You always have such pretty makes!
Love your blocks Shelley. Spent most of November working on a Cozy Quilt pattern- Buds and Blooms. Think when I started it my mind wasn’t fully on it! After ripping several times on the first block I got it right. Now have 20 blocks made. Had hoped to get block B at least started. That will be in December! I did get a quilt bound. Had a call for dog bandanas. That took up the last couple of days in November. Have 50 cut out now, need to get them finished this coming week.
The outside is decorated for Christmas. working on the inside now. Tree is up now, it’s all the extra things that need to get out. Not sure how much will get done this time around. Our weather is finally cooler but we sure do need rain.
I love your DWR. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen the rings that big. I, too, only had 3 weeks in the studio. We went to Kansas to see our son and family. But I still managed to get 65 blocks complete. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you.
9 blocks completed. Fun to see what you are working on!
I made 83 blocks in November and bound 1 quilt. I quilted one small quilt but don’t have it bound yet.
I started with some orphan blocks and added to them to put together a small quilt top. I still have to add borders.
I sewed 15 blocks in November 1 of which was an EPP block with TINY! pieces, prepped several other EPP blocks, and bound 1 twin quilt. Was hoping for much more, but most of my month was spent at the hospital with my dad. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.
I live in Northern Michigan. We had our first real snow this weekend also. However, it has added up in the 1′-2′ area. :/
Not many blocks after 2nd cataract surgery (cannot see up close). Did make one pillowcase, 2 patchwork bags, i honeycomb block, and 2 pinwheel blocks (not really sure – diamonds with triangles) for potholders. Maybe Dec snow will force me to sew. Hoping so!
I like your bunting block!
I made 4 log cabin blocks which I turned into a runner for a Christmas gift, and 23 blocks for the Carly Quilt. It feels like I made way more than23, I guess I did, as I made many of them more than once! Lol rip rip.
So my total for November is 27 blocks.
The Christmas tree is up, I now have to work on getting the house ready for the holidays.
I made only one hand stitched block this whole month. But it was the last of 16 blocks for the quilt so it may be a finished thing sometime in 2025.
lots to do this month. only 15 blocks made
go
Well done Shelly! I had 4 for oct and 3 for November.
Made about 60 units that will eventually become blocks. ( improv )
Nineteen blocks for November. And two quilts complete and ready to gift. That Double Wedding Ring is AMAZING! I look forward to learning more of the story.
The bright customer quilt is beautiful. I love the quilting pantograph. I managed to complete 10 blocks in November.
16 blocks
0 for November. I always have a hand quilting project I’m working on and usually that means the rare times I find something I want to watch on PBS or Netflix! November was very busy; but, nothing that required piecing blocks. I finished setting blocks and rows on my QOV, started and even finished a few Christmas projects. Have several of those still to go which means I really have to resist temptation to start piecing something new. Maybe I will get to do that the last week of the year!
My main focus for November was placemats (22 of them) that go to Meals on Wheels for our guild’s community service project. I also finished one baby quilt and made 85 blocks for the month. Love your DWR!
41 for me. I find your blocks fascinating and look forward to seeing them each month. Members of my quilt group have made placemats for Meals on Wheels, too.
I ended up making 110 blocks, amazed myself when I counted them up. Hoping to have a good month in December, on a retreat starting today.
Zero blocks for Nov. But I was sewing. 16 more
Christmas gifts sewed added to the 19 made in Oct. Trying to made blocks and put up Christmas decorations.
Your quilt and blocks are beautiful.
Hopefully at least 45 blocks for Dec.
I don’t think I have mentioned I have been getting a couple vintage sewing machines bac running. I challenge and learning opportunity. Both are running tip top and sew well.
I had 16 blocks for November, all for my new Santa tree skirt for my new small tree, decorated only with my Santa ornament collection. Otherwise, I was quilting other quilts.
I made a few table runners for a total of 7 blocks. My count is way down for this year. I did have a great sewing weekend w/sisters!
That double wedding ring quilt is spectacular! I had a lovely time at my quilt retreat and was able to sew up 50 blocks while I was there. Hopefully I’ll get some quilting in after Christmas!
sent a email to you but wanted to Report November her. 912. thanks so much
You did fantastic! I made 29 blocks. Working on finishing some projects. Feels like I’m in slow motion these days.
I’m late getting my numbers in, sorry. I had 18 for November. That DWR quilt is very pretty!
I’m late as well. I thought I’d added my 270 to October’s but I just saw that I did not so 270 in November for me!! YAY!
I made 56 blocks in November. I made two simple quilts (30), a tree skirt and pillow (14) a small wall hanging (9) and some stuffed snowmen (3). Don’t know where the time goes. I hope everyone has a great holiday season. Especially you Shelly! Hope this isn’t too late.
Only had 44 blocks this month. Did lots of other things in the studio, longarming and put the binding on 5 large twin size charity quilts. It seems that I accomplished lots in the studio, just not making blocks. Love the pattern you are quilting on the Trip Around the World quilt and the double wedding ring is awesome. Happy holidays!
This is probably way too late but my block count for November was 45….not a lot but happy I got that many made. Sorry I’m so late Shelly!
