This month I’m featuring another of my quilts that I just love for this season: Scrappy Wild Geese.
As the real geese around here head south for the winter, and the temps start to cool down, it’s a good time to fit in some scrap quilt stitching, isn’t it?
This pattern is great for using up some fall-colored scraps. It goes pretty quickly using the no-waste Flying Geese method, and makes large blocks.
My original version, which is in the pattern, does not have sashing:

But I made it again and added some sashing, and it’s a whole ‘nother look! (You can read about this quilt HERE.)

I can’t even decide which is my favorite. The sashing directions are not included in the pattern, but I’m sure you can easily figure that out if you prefer that version.
Did I mention there are several size options for making this quilt? Five different choices, in fact, cos I’m a big fan of options!
The pattern is available in my Etsy shop through the month of October for only $5 in either the printed or the PDF version. I will warn you, once the printed version sells out, it will only be available in the PDF version from then on, so if you want the pre-printed one, don’t delay!
Have a wonderful stitchy October!
The sashing adds a lightness to the quilt. Is is 1/2” finished?
What size are the geese and blocks?
I like the second one – sort of Civil War look to it. The reds really pop nicely on the first one too – they are so different. Fun! All those goosies!!!
This one is still on my bucket list of quilts to make. I love the design!
I do like the secondary pattern with the sashing. Looks like a good scrap buster.
Thank you for pattern offer- looks like a great pattern! Love the fall colors and the dashing option.
I like the one with sashing best. I’m not sewing much these days but I really enjoy reading your posts and as always admiring your work.
