‘Twas a Weddin’

The other night, My Cowboy had a movie playing, and as I walked through the room, a somber scene was playing out, but I couldn’t figure out exactly what it was, so I asked him: “Is that a wedding, or a funeral?” His reply: “Yep!” To him, the two sort of equate . . .

And we went to Nick and Hallie’s wedding on Saturday.

It seems we’ve been hanging out with Leslie’s family more than our own lately. But we’ve sure had fun. And for the first time since I’ve been with him, My Cowboy danced with me!

The wedding was very common (in a good way) and Hallie did a wonderful job with her colors and decorations. Aren’t these adorable bridesmaid’s dresses?

And someone in her family made them their wedding cake as their gift. Fits them perfectly!

Although they did cut into the cake . . .

. . . Hallie wouldn’t let the guests eat the farm cake, so she had baked (with her mother’s help) almost 200 cupcakes to feed to everyone else. And the punch was delicious.

They served a meal of barbecued beef, baked beans, cole slaw, hot rolls, potato salad, and pasta salad. After the meal, they set out huge bowls of several different kinds of melon, and potato chips and popcorn. They fed us all night long!

Nick and Hallie kicked off the dancing after the meal. They’re just so cute. Hallie’s dress was just gorgeous. It’s the same dress her grandmother wore when she got married, so that’s extra special.

There were lots of little kids at the reception, and they danced their little hearts out. I’ll bet they slept like rocks that night!

So now Nick and Hallie are safely married, and My Cowboy and I wish them a long and happy life together.
