Thank You All So Much

Thank you all so much for all the kind birthday wishes yesterday!

I try not to advertise when it’s my birthday, but certain friends of mine . . . ahem!

Turns out, I share my birthday with one of my favorite places on earth — Sew Sweet Quilt Shop, in Brunswick, Missouri!

It was 6 years ago, August 8th, that they opened their doors for the first time. (I’m considerably older than the shop!)

I was down there yesterday for their Saturday Sampler Club, and they were celebrating, so there was birthday cake — how appropriate! And they sang Happy Birthday to me — sew sweet, indeed!

When I got home, My Cowboy and I went out for a birthday dinner, and I got a free dessert because it was my birthday! My Cowboy suggested we go to some other restaurants in town and see if that would happen again — haha! What a stinker!

Many of my friends called, texted, and Facebook messaged me — it was really sweet and nice of so many of you to remember me. I really appreciate it.

And I got a fabulous present from My Cowboy!

He had this large, heavy-duty tote bag custom made just for me by our Amish friend, Joe, who has a Harness Shop and makes all our tack for us, too. It’s completely awesome:

It’s made from that waterproof stuff that jackets and hunting chaps are made from, so it’s actually quite lightweight, but very tough.

It’s got fancy leather handles that will never break, and that webbing goes all the way around for reinforcement. I find myself feeling a tidget jealous over Joe’s bagmaking skills — seriously — he’s good!

There’s a Prairie Moon Ranch sign on one side:

And a Prairie Moon Quilts sign on the other (complete with quilt, you’ll notice!):

I’ve already used it once, and now I can get rid of some of my smaller, more flimsy totes and have this nice one to carry my quilts around in!

He’s such a thoughtful, wonderful guy, that Cowboy — I think I’ll keep him. Even if he did say to me last night: “I’ve never kissed a woman this old before!”
