News From the Studio, Episode 1202

I’ve been very, very busy, but most of it is with things I can’t show you just yet, and I hate that. It gives me nothing to blog about!

So I thought I’d update you on a few things that have been going on around here, and show you some other stuff to look at, in case you haven’t seen it.

I’m making some progress on the sewing room. Walls and ceiling are all painted, design wall boards are up, and carpeting is gone!SewingRoom

Next projects are finishing the floor, some touch-up painting, and covering the design wall.

Then I have to sweet talk My Cowboy into wiring it for me. There is no light fixture and only one outlet in this entire room. That just won’t do, when I have lots of things to plug in and I’ll need good lighting!

I’m really anxious to get moved in, tho. I’ll keep you updated.

I’ll have two new patterns coming out real quick, so keep your eyes peeled for those.

Meanwhile, here’s a few other places to visit, just for inspiration and other quilty things to do . . .

Pat Sloan recently gave a sneak peek of her new fabric line coming out with Moda. You can click HERE to see some of the prints in her new line, called “One for you, One for me”. Love. The. Colors.

If you follow along with the Kansas City Star’s yearly Block-of-the-Month quilts (my sister and I are trying to do them all — have I ever mentioned that? and that she is way ahead of me? — um, yeh) this year’s quilt is now in full swing, and Block 2 is available for free, but only free for one week, so hop over there and download it by clicking HERE. Or you can get it in the H&H section of the Kansas City Star’s Sunday paper . . . and if you’re on Facebook, you can follow Louanna Mary Quilt Design, for posts from the author herself!

And my friend, Victoria, has issued a new Call for Quilts. They need twin-sized quilts this time, for women. Click HERE to read all about it, and see if you can donate a quilt!

And . . . you can catch Victoria on The Quilt Show today, talking about her process and her quilts! Go check it out. You WILL learn something. If you want to catch it later, it’s Episode 1404.

And while I’m at it, I’ll just go ahead and announce the winner of the January prize in the 350 Blocks Project. This month, it’s Nanette S., and she’s already made 47 blocks this year so far. Are you stitching and counting your blocks? It’ll be time to report for February before you can blink. Isn’t this year whizzing right by?

I’ll be back soon to show you those new patterns I was talking about, so check back, and have a great week!

    Shelly,

Thank you!! Love your new room. Enjoy the progress! Every sewer must have their own space!

    Thank you again!

Oh Shelly, I love that floor. That is going to look awesome.

You are not allowed to give me a hard time for starting yet another project when you are the one that is dangling it in front of my face!!!! I think I am really going to have to try that Organized Chaos. Love how it looks.

  4. Susan says:

I can’t imagine a room with NO light fixture and only one outlet! Was this house built when electricity was a new thing? That floor is going to be gorgeous.

  5. cala says:

It is SO worth waiting for your own space …you are going to love it!

  6. Diane Davis says:

So glad you are able to work some more on the house. I love seeing the progress.
