Need’l Love’s Open House

Last Saturday, my sister and I drove down to the Ozarks to attend the Holiday Open House at Reneé Nanneman’s studio.

Reneé is a fabric designer for Andover Fabrics, and has a LOT of patterns published as well.
The Open House was wonderful. I could have hung out there all day!

She had the entryway decorated with such a warm welcome . . .

And when you first walk in, you see the lovely sitting area with the decorated Christmas tree, and a lovely cabinet full of antique quilts — such inspiration . . .

There’s a quilt on the wall that is a design by Gerry Kimmel Carr of Red Wagon Quilts. So lovely!

And she had helpers passing out candy canes!

To your left is the most fabulous wall of fabric — I nearly fainted, it’s so beautiful. I wanted some of every piece of it. Especially the red shelf. And the pink shelf. And the brown shelf. And . . . really — some of all of it!

Here’s another shot of the wall of fabric. See those reds? I want.

The decorations were gorgeous, and she had samples everywhere, with kits and fabric bundles all ready for purchase.studio2

Here’s the wool area, with rug hooking kits and needle-punched projects. They were so cute I wanted to take up another hobby, and barely talked myself out of it.

It’s a wonderful studio. Wouldn’t this just be the dream place to work? How could you NOT be creative in a space like this? There is even a fabulous view of the lake out the back picture windows.

They were serving warm apple cider, coffee, and cookies in the kitchen, too. I had to munch on a few cookies to help me decide what to buy.

And here’s what I ended up with. This bundle of Geofabulous by Maude Asbury for Blend Fabrics:

And a bundle of neutrals from Reneé’s own Linen Closet line, which I’ve been wanting for a long time, and am sorely in need of:

And I bought some chalkboard fabric! Have you seen this stuff? Tried it? It’s so fun! I had to have it. One of these days when I get something made from it, I’ll show you.

Reneé and I had our picture taken together, but she made a funny, and we were laughing, and so her eyes are closed in this shot — sorry, Reneé!

If you went to the Open House, then I know you had a nice time. If you missed it, then you should definitely mark your calendars for the next one. You can sign up for Reneé’s newsletter HERE on her website, so you’ll get notifications of what she’s up to, and all the latest news on her patterns and fabrics. Be prepared — her website is wonderful, so you’ll probably want to grab a cup of hot chocolate and spend awhile . . .

Nice. Wish we had a store closer to us. Love the neutrals.

Ohhhh, I wish I had gone with you rather than going to Chicago!!!!!! You showed great restraint. I don’t have a bucket list, but if I did, that would be on it!!

I’m so envious. I love her designs and signed up for her newsletter.
