Thirteen things I want to accomplish in 2013. Keep up with my progress below . . .

1 ) Read at least 13 books. (Just two. Two seems to be all I can manage in a year!)

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

Knights of the Shadow Wood by David C.S. Richard

2 ) Finish at least 13 of my oldest UFOs. (Total fail! Only one? Pathetic!)

 Do You Remember . . . ?

3 ) Publish 13 new designs, as patterns, kits, or tutorials. (Ten — I almost made it!)

Wildflowers Table Runner

Out To Pasture

What The Hex?

Greek Cross

Sasparilla Trails

Summer Wildflowers Apron

Ashbury Heights Apron

2013 Prairie Moon Ranch Cowboy Boot Christmas Stocking, Blue Christmas

Barcelona Bubbles

Red Hot Grenadine

4 ) Lose at least 13 pounds.

First, I gained 13 pounds . . . then I lost 11. Not what I had planned at all! Fail!

5 ) Attend 13 quilting events (shows, workshops, retreats, etc.) (Almost too easy! I love going to quilting events!)

Quilt Guild Community Service work day

March Quilt Guild Retreat

April Quilt Guild Retreat

AQS Show in Paducah, KY

Quilt Market in Portland, OR

Hands of Friendship Quilt Guild 28th Annual Quilt Show

Sweet Sewfull July Event at Sew Sweet Quilt Shop

6 ) Clean out and organize 13 bins of fabric.

3 done, then I just quit. But I’ll still be working on this one in 2014.

7 ) Knit at least 13 items (scarves, prayer shawls, afghans, etc.) (Again, just one. Pathetic!)

Tan prayer shawl

8 ) Refinish 13 areas of my house. (Also pathetic. There WILL be more on this in 2014.)

The Landing Closet

9 ) Make at least 13 charity quilts.

I made several tops, but none of them got quilted. I’ll be working on that in 2014 as well.

10 ) Gain 13 new longarm customers. (I did it! Actually, I got more than 13, but just a few are listed here.)

Pat Sloan

René Martinez

Ryan Walsh

Rachael Gander

Lisa Ruble

Melodie M.

Jenny C.

Kimberly Einmo

Virginia S.

Glenda H.

Donna P.

11 ) Learn 13 new things. (Guess I’m a slow learner . . .)

I got an iPad and am still figuring out all its uses.

I learned to use my NextBook as an eReader (which is the only reason I got some books finished)

I learned to use Double Wedding Ring templates

I learned how to use FaceBook.

12 ) Try at least 13 new recipes. (Ten that I can remember. Some of them are keepers — some I’ll never try again!)

Banana Bread Brownies

Peachy Keen Bars

Sour Cream Cherry Pie

Margarita Cookies with Salty Sweet Tequila Glaze

Meat Pies (by Kent Rollins in the September 2013 issue of Western Horseman)

Blueberry Pie (my own concoction)

Chicken Alfredo Casserole

Skillet Cabbage

Breakfast Bake

Salted Caramel Mocha

13 ) Finish 13 of my antique quilt tops into finished quilts.

I did actually finish 2 small ones, but I haven’t shown them yet. Other than that, another total fail.
