My Favorite Block Quilt-Along

Hey, everybody! It’s my day to post a block for My Favorite Block Quilt-Along over at Kim’s: Persimon Dreams.

My block is the traditional Missouri Star block.MoStar12

This truly is my favorite block. Seein’ as how I’m from Missouri and all, and I like stars, yet it’s not just a plain ol’ star, I really like this block . . . in any size!MoStar6You can see that I used fairly “rustic” colors to make my blocks. I make a lot of farm/ranch/cowboy-themed quilts, and this is one of my favorite blocks to include in those, so that kinda guided my color choices this time . . .

I would LOVE to see it made up in more modern fabrics, too, so some of you get crackin’ and post some so I can see it in lots of different colors, OK?

The pattern has instructions for a 12″ size and a 6″ size block.

You can get the PDF tutorial by clicking here: Missouri Star.

And today, Kim has a little interview up about me, if you’d like to find out the answers to some really burning questions she asked! Click HERE for that.

Soma from Whims and Fancies will be along on Thursday with yet another new block for the Quilt-Along, so be sure and check back in then, and have fun quilting along!

I am going to make the 6 inch block and put it in my Barn Block!!! It’ll be perfect, since I live in Missouri too!

  2. I love this block! I love all stars, to be honest. That first block with the paisley is great. I went over to the other blog to get my burning questions answered, but it was a post about a Michelle woman. I was like, “That doesn’t look like Shelly!” haha. I must have done something wrong?

  3. Whew. Thanks for fixing the link. I got all my burning questions answered. I had been pondering what your favorite number was all day. Not surprised it’s 6, as in 666. You devil, you. Love ya!

Thanks! Not only for this block, but for the whole blog hop that I didn’t know anything about!
