Kathy’s Stockings

I love when you guys send me pictures of stuff you’ve made using my patterns!

A reader/customer of mine, Kathy, sent me a picture of the Christmas stockings she made this year from a couple of my Christmas stocking patterns.

Aren’t they cute? She did a fabulous job on them!KathysCowboyBootstockings

Kathy now lives in Texas, but used to reside in New Mexico. I’ll let her tell you about her project there:

“I ran a program that was featured in one of the last issues of Quilter’s Home Magazine, February/March 2011. I had up to 300 MEN who were paid to make quilts. The quilts were 40″ square & just the right size for someone in a wheelchair or a small child napping. We donated all the quilts. I ran that program for 11 years, only leaving because we moved to San Antonio. All work was done by hand except for the final finishing. Our Senior Warden got a big kick out of the fact that The Good Samaritan Society sent a sea-tainer to Zimbabwe every year. Our quilts were in those shipments. He loved to brag to visitors about them. The program is still going.”

She sent me a couple pictures of quilts that were made by the inmates:Cordova 1

And then, just for “kicks”, she also sent me this picture of gigantic cowboy boots from Texas! boots

Now THAT’s one heckuva pair of boots! She said they light them up at Christmas time, so right now, they’re probably all decked out and lit up.

Thanks, Kathy, for all the pictures!
