Future Hunter

Back in the summer I was commissioned by a couple in Nebraska (long before I knew I’d be moving here) to make a baby quilt for their new addition that was scheduled to make an appearance in September.

Not your typical baby quilt, this couple, being avid coonhunters, wanted camouflage, black, tan, and coondogs all over this little quilt.

So I sketched up something I thought they’d like, they approved the design, and I made their little baby a Coondog Quilt!

There were brown silhouettes of a coondog treeing a coon, and there were some black silhouettes of just coondogs:

There was camouflage, and black, and tan, and the back was the most wonderfully soft, solid black minky. When My Cowboy felt the back of it, I was afraid for a second he wasn’t gonna let me send it off! (I think I need to make him a minky quilt of his own.)

And I got it to them in time for them to take it with them to the hospital for Baby Bo’s arrival.

Baby Bo is already over 2 months old and growing like a weed! His mommy says he likes laying on his tummy on the minky side of his quilt.

Mark wanted me to tell you that, that is a quilt he would like to have. He said he would use that one. (He doesn’t use any of the quilts I have made him.)
