Do You Crochet?

Posted on November 21, 2015 by prairiemoonquilts in Knitting and Crochet

Have you seen THIS blog?

I love everything she does! It’s the color . . . the most gorgeous color — it sucks me right in.

I’m a knitter, but this gal does the most beautiful crochet, and it made me want to do it, too!

I know how to crochet, but I’ve always chosen knitting over crochet because it hurts my hands less. HOWEVER . . .

I’m giving in on this one:

The Granny Stripe Blanket

I’m making this one if it completely does me in! I’m just so in love with it!

My yarn arrived yesterday.

Lucy is hosting this as a Crochet-Along HERE, and we’re only on Week 2, so there’s still time for you to join in and catch up.

I’ll post pictures of my progress. If you crochet, too, I think you should join me! Heehee!

If you don’t especially care for the Granny Stripe Blanket, she’s also hosting a Sunny Blanket Crochet-Along right now as well, and you might like it better. Or, if neither of those is your cuppa, she has an entire list of patterns and tutorials to choose from. Sometimes I just need a break from all the quilting — do you ever feel that way?

NO lalalalala (fingers in ears), you are NOT sucking me in to doing any more projects right now!!!!!!!

I can see why you got sucked in. Me, I’m desperately hanging onto the door jam …. did you order your yarn from the uk?

I don’t crochet any longer because the repetitive motion hurts my wrists, but I used to do a lot. That blanket looks fabulous! I look forward to seeing your progress.

  6. I do crochet…LOL at the previous comments here. Love Lucy’s beautiful use of color and would probably join in, but believe it or not, I haven’t done any quilting in over a month because I’ve been (can you guess?) happily crocheting an afghan using large granny squares. A great diversion….and NOTE TO SUSAN: I have trouble too, with repetitive stress of crochet, so I’m using a large K hook, crocheting loosely to keep my hands/wrists relaxed, and taking care not to overdo. It’s working great! Also, if you haven’t tried the ergonomic hooks, the padding helps, too.

I haven’t crocheted in years. Guess what I did today? LOL Went and got 17 colors of yarn! I’m going to make the granny stripe! Can’t wait to start it! Thank you so much for telling us about this project! The colors are all so bright and fun!!
