Time for the last project on the list to have its day in the sun!
I have not completed one single one of the quilts on my list this year. That means an entire year of not quilting any of my own projects, except for those with immediate deadlines. I’m gonna die with a million unquilted tops! I’m beginning to understand why there are so many unquilted tops to be found in flea markets and antique malls. Someday most of mine will be among them!
I do recognize this as a problem, and hope to remedy it at least somewhat during the next year. I have begun with a crazed effort to catch up on my customer backlog on the longarm before the end of this year, and make a more realistic schedule going forward.
It’s extremely difficult to plan for interruptions and life events when you have no idea what will happen, but I simply don’t have a single bit of cushion for even the slightest hiccup in my life. I need a cushion! I’m on a mission to provide that for myself.
In the meantime, it’s time for #11 on my list, which is my Farmer’s Wife Sampler quilt. I’ve done 30-some of the 111 blocks, and hopefully I can add a few more finished ones to my total this month, especially since I’m still piecing. Working on this quilt will not require the use of the longarm just yet!
I’ll let you know how it goes.
Here are a few of the blocks I already have done. I still like them, and want to add to them.
What will you be working on this month? We’ve got one last chance to finish something before the end of the year. Are you working on something with a Christmas deadline? That always helps speed the production process along, if you ask me.
Whatever you’re working on, hopefully it will mean one less UFO heading into 2016.
Good luck to us all this month!
