Coon Hunter Quilt

A couple weeks ago, I finished a custom Coon Hunter wall quilt for Heather.

Coon hounds are Heather’s favorite dog. “But,” she says, “ours don’t hunt — they’re just spoiled couch potatoes!”

She was afraid to have a quilt made for the bed, because she says the dogs like to “fluff” the covers when nesting, and she didn’t want them to tear it up. So she ordered one to hang on the wall!

Heather left it up to me to choose the fabrics, so I went with fall colors and camo. She chose a black hound silhouette for the center, and since the quilt is small, I chose to do stars around the center that are all alike, but scrappy.

I put this leaf print on the back, and quilted it fairly simply.

Heather said she loves it! And I’m happy to have a happy customer!

Heather runs an organization called Luke’s Legacy Spay and Neuter, which raises money to get pets spayed and neutered to combat pet overpopulation. She sells donated items on eBay and holds yard sales locally where she lives (Washington state).

Since beginning her program in April, 2014, Heather has already helped 25 pets get spayed or neutered. If you’d like to follow her news, she has a FaceBook page HERE.

If you have items to donate, or would simply like to make a monetary donation to help her out, click the About link on her FaceBook page and you’ll find her email address to get in touch with her. Every little bit helps!

And if you or someone you know has a pet that needs to be spayed or neutered, get in touch with Heather, and she will help you out!
