Celebrate Back to School

Posted on August 25, 2012 by prairiemoonquilts in Give-Aways

Michele over at the Quilting Gallery is once again hosting a Blog Hop Party with give-aways, this time to celebrate getting back to school.

Doesn’t this time of year just have a certain “feel” to it? It makes me want to go to the store and shop till I drop for school supplies. I sort of have a fetish for those items as it is . . . this just gives me an excuse and keeps me from looking weird. Well . . . at least as far as having a shopping cart full of school supplies goes . . .

For those of you who have kids, back to school might just mean that you have a little more time to yourself to spend quilting (then again, it might not — I remember those days so well).

But just in case it does (one can always dream), I’m giving away a grab bag of quilting supplies, a Quilter’s Back to School goodie bag.

Here’s some of what’s included:

But this is just part of what’s included. I’m up to about ten items, and I’ll keep adding more from now until the give-away closes, just as I run across them, because . . .

My Cowboy looked around the studio the other day and said, “Wooooww, there’s a lot of stuff in this room,” accompanied by an incredulous shake of the head.

So before he nominates me for an episode of Hoarders, I’ve decided he’s right, and I should pass on some of the stuff I have duplicates of, or things I will never get around to using. I’m starting with these things.

I mean, really, how many needle cases do I need?

And all my rulers are already covered with the non-slip sticky stuff.

And once I’ve made a quilt from a pattern, it’s unlikely I’ll make it a second time.

And all the extras I bought when that quilt shop was going out of business? Yeh, too much stuff!

It’s only fair to pass these things on. So that’s what will be included in my give-away package. Quilting supplies and goodies (and I promise at least one piece of fabric). Most of it is new, although a couple things might be gently used (like a pattern I’ve used once or something like that). And you don’t even have to shop for any of it.

You’re actually helping me out by saving me from being buried alive in all my extra quilting stuff! (And it’ll make My Cowboy happy.) And he’s properly shamed me into staying away from all the back to school sales. I have enough Sharpies and notebooks for now.

So please enter to win, and I’ll be thrilled to send this stuff off to you pronto (before the floor of my studio gives way).

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. It’s open to anyone anywhere. I’ll draw for a winner on September 3.

And don’t forget to visit the Blog Hop page, where you can go find lots of other folks who are also having give-aways, and enter to win all kinds of other stuff as well.
