Michele over at the Quilting Gallery is once again hosting a Blog Hop Party with give-aways, this time to celebrate getting back to school.
Doesn’t this time of year just have a certain “feel” to it? It makes me want to go to the store and shop till I drop for school supplies. I sort of have a fetish for those items as it is . . . this just gives me an excuse and keeps me from looking weird. Well . . . at least as far as having a shopping cart full of school supplies goes . . .
For those of you who have kids, back to school might just mean that you have a little more time to yourself to spend quilting (then again, it might not — I remember those days so well).
But just in case it does (one can always dream), I’m giving away a grab bag of quilting supplies, a Quilter’s Back to School goodie bag.
Here’s some of what’s included:
But this is just part of what’s included. I’m up to about ten items, and I’ll keep adding more from now until the give-away closes, just as I run across them, because . . .
My Cowboy looked around the studio the other day and said, “Wooooww, there’s a lot of stuff in this room,” accompanied by an incredulous shake of the head.
So before he nominates me for an episode of Hoarders, I’ve decided he’s right, and I should pass on some of the stuff I have duplicates of, or things I will never get around to using. I’m starting with these things.
I mean, really, how many needle cases do I need?
And all my rulers are already covered with the non-slip sticky stuff.
And once I’ve made a quilt from a pattern, it’s unlikely I’ll make it a second time.
And all the extras I bought when that quilt shop was going out of business? Yeh, too much stuff!
It’s only fair to pass these things on. So that’s what will be included in my give-away package. Quilting supplies and goodies (and I promise at least one piece of fabric). Most of it is new, although a couple things might be gently used (like a pattern I’ve used once or something like that). And you don’t even have to shop for any of it.
You’re actually helping me out by saving me from being buried alive in all my extra quilting stuff! (And it’ll make My Cowboy happy.) And he’s properly shamed me into staying away from all the back to school sales. I have enough Sharpies and notebooks for now.
So please enter to win, and I’ll be thrilled to send this stuff off to you pronto (before the floor of my studio gives way).
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. It’s open to anyone anywhere. I’ll draw for a winner on September 3.
And don’t forget to visit the Blog Hop page, where you can go find lots of other folks who are also having give-aways, and enter to win all kinds of other stuff as well.
Hi Shelly, thanks for the chance at your giveaway, I see something I really need on your giveaway and that is the spot remover! 🙂
I’d love to win something–especially if I knew it would mean helping someone get rid of surplus goodness.
your sewing area sounds like mine-full to overflowing and then some! That spot remover is great-gets out the dribbles of morning coffee that somehow seem to get on my work clothes!
I guess that makes me a hoarder too!
Thanks for a chance to win.
I could use a nice needle case…at present I am using a recycled Altoids tin. I love quilt “stuff” please enter me for a chance to win.
Thanks for the chance to win! If you saw my quilting supplies you would understand why I soooo want to win. I have the opposite problem, I showed my ‘cowboy’ a picture of a proper stash and even he acknowledged how pathetic mine is in comparison! Take pity!
I’m guilty of hiding purchases from my husband. Just thot I would share that with you.
somewhat related; I cleaned out two clothes closets and one shoe closet this summer, and gave away 8 kitchen-size trash bags of clothes, and 2.5 same-size bags of shoes… egad. Thanks for the giveaway chance!
Ah! A goodie bag that keeps on growing! If I gave DH a say in what to giveaway, I would be left with empty shelves. Thank you for your generous giveaway…or should I thank your cowboy? 🙂
Thank you for the chance to win this amazing giveaway!
Thank you for the chance to win.

With any luck, from your hoard to mine!
Like I need more stuff in my studio! LOL. I need to do the same thing you’re doing, as my Cowboy says the same thing to me all the time! My blog reader just updated (it must not have been lately) with five new posts from you! So, either you’re a blogging fool in one day, or my blog reader wasn’t updating! Sorry I’ve been missing out! Great idea for your giveaway! I’m somewhat new to sewing, and brand new to quilting. I managed to make a baby quilt, and I am quite proud of it. Any items that will help me with quilting are wonderful 🙂

Thank you for the great giveaway! I know what you mean about Hoarders, but really….men just don’t understand how much stuff we NEED to be good quilters, right?
It is amazing how things can accumulate. Thanks for sharing your “hoard”.
Ooh, a sewing studio! It would be so fun to have a dedicated space. Mine is the corner of my bedroom. 🙂
I’d be happy to reduce your stash:)
Love the black and white fabric with the splash of red!
I would love to enter for this fantastic giveaway. Thank you so much.
Poor Cowboy just doesn’t understand…he really should have no worries about the hoarding…I mean stash 🙂 until it invades his ‘man cave’ … 😀

Thank you for the chance to win some amazing prizes. (I keep my sewing room door closed so hubby doesn’t go in there or my room would be empty by now.)
I am always willing to help someone clear out their extras! And I know how you feel about the school supplies. I only have 1 child left in school and that is in college so hedoesn’t need as many school supplies as before. I look to see if there is anything I would like and usually get a new box of crayons to do some appliqué or embroidery.
From one stash to another, love it….
What a fabulous giveaway!
What a generous giveaway!
Cool giveaway. I love “mystery” style giveaways (I buy most of my fabric that way, in “mystery grab bags”).
Thanks for the great giveaway. I know I have lots of stuff to get rid of too.

What a generous giveaway!! Thank you so much for this opportunity.
I know what ya mean. My MIL thinks I hoard and I have a very small stash with less then 20 prints. But then she considers it hoarding if you keep anything longer then 3-4 months and haven’t used it for something. (and no if I win you won’t be causing trouble for me, I just ignore her)
Thanks for the giveaway. I live on my brother’s farm and he was feeding the cattle before dawn in anticipation of Issac weather.
Your surprises will be great to win, as we don’t have any spot remover or ruler gripper thingies.
Thanks for a chance to win. greetings from northern British Columbia, Canada
Always happy to help you keep your Cowboy happy! Happy Cowboys are a good thing!!!
Hey a surprise is always nice- plus helping a fellow quilting spread their resourses around. Thanks for the chance to win – maybe!!!

My hubby seldom sticks his head in my sewing room. Some days I can hardly find the room to walk. Right now it’s actually somewhat clear. But I don’t comment on his shop either. But your loss is our gain. Thanks.
thanks so much for the giveaway–lots of goodies to look forward to if I’m the winner
One quilter’s hoard is another quilter’s stash (or something like that). Thanks for the chance to win the goodies.

thanks for a great prize
Thanks for sharing I am sure whomever the winner is will be proud to help you stay off the horders show.
I love reading blogs because it makes me realise that my sewing room is not messy or crowded, it is normal and how a quilting room should look! Thanks for helping me feel better about my sewing room.
I don’t think anyone who is a quilter or even a scrapbooker should be allowed to be called a hoarder—You never know when you may need that certain one thing!! I had checked out a few pictures on Moda’s Show us your Stash party-and it makes me feel OK with the stuff I have and how my sewing room looks!! Thanks for the chance of winning some goodies!!
I love the idea of almost a mystery prize goodie bag.
great giveaway. Love Grab bags – each item is a great surprise. Thanks for the opportunity on the giveaway and good luck to all the particpants

I would love to help you clear out your “clutter”.
I have a cowboy too that doesn’t understand my passion of sewing and quilting, but who cares? everyone has his/her own (mine is mad with horses, lucky me they don’t enter in the house) ^^)
I would love to have some of your stuff ^_^
Aw I would love to help you out – one hoarder to another type kind of helping… LOL our study is slowly becoming MY study… 😉
He only has to build me a sun room at the back and I can move there… very happy to do so infact 😉

I think giving away a pattern that you have used is so great. It will make the winner feel like a close friend. When I have a great pattern I like to share it with my friends and I love it when they share with me. So thank you for this giveaway.

Love the idea of this giveaway! Grab bags are such fun!!
Well, I think I need to go through some of my sewing things to and pass along things I have had as long as I have been sewing. The problem is I need to do that with my whole house! I told my mom we need to have a family garage sale and save the money for a big family time at a resort. There has been a lot of us moving around and we all have so much stuff, yet I am still trying to win things 🙂
Well you definitely don’t want to get so bad that you could be on Hoarders – poor people. Thanks for the giveaway!
It’s great to share with other people who have similar interests, isn’t it?
That looks a terrific bundle that you are putting together. Thank you.
you’re very generous! thanks for the chance
Oh how fun. I LOVE getting surprise packages in the mail.
One of my boys have to move back home with his family and both of them keep telling me I am not allowed to buy anything else for my sewing room. I guess trying to make her realize how lucky she was going to be when I’m gone to get all this stuff wasn’t the right way to go about telling them there is still stuff I need(want) to buy. I think that might be what scared her the most. LOL BUT……..they never said I can’t WIN stuff. HA Mom’s always figure out a way around things. 🙂
Thank you for the chance.
I really like Grandma’s Spot Remover. Thanks for a chance to win.
Thanks,
Peggy

I too have ‘stuff’. I had it all under control until a neighbor dropped off all her quilting stuff..she’s in her 80’s and not wanting to do it any more. Alot of it is ‘old school’. Will pass some along sometime soon.
I’d love to be included…I’m sure you have some great stash!
Love grab bags of stuff. How generous of you – and crafty at the same time. Thanks.
Oh my goodness, I loved your description of your floor being in danger of falling in! My studio is on our third floor and I’ve quilted for 30 years (aka fabric collected)…should I be worried? Thanks for the fun giveaway!
