I guess it’s about time I spilled the beans on the latest happenings around the ol’ ranch . . .
Prairie Moon Ranch (and Quilts) is moving to Nebraska!
Almost every winter, My Cowboy goes where the available work takes him, and I usually stay here alone and take care of our place by myself. This time . . . it’s all worked out so that I can go with him, so we’re off on a new adventure — and the available work lasts year-round!
Naturally, I have mixed feelings regarding this move.
I really like the area where we’ll be living, but here in Missouri is where my family lives, and where I’ve lived all my life. I think I’ll miss my sister the most. But I’ll get to be with My Cowboy all the time.
I’m leaving behind a big bunch of my quilting friends, my guilds, and my favorite quilt shop (and most likely several of my local longarm customers). But thank goodness for all my long-distance quilting friends, groups, and customers (and online shopping!). Nothing has to change there.
I have to pack up my studio. I think this is the one that hurts the most. If you could only see this mess! It’s quite daunting. But it is making me clean up and get more organized, which I badly needed to do anyway.
And I only have a few days left to get it all done, along with a whole list of other things that have to be taken care of before I go.
My Cowboy is already out there, with the horses, and our cattle, and he has a few things in place and ready for my arrival (like a washer/dryer and phone/internet service — you know, important stuff!).
So my presence online will be fairly scarce over the next couple weeks, until I get settled in at the new place. I can already tell there will be lots of new blog fodder out there, so be sure and stay tuned!
