Because I accepted an invitation to teach a couple workshops at the Sweet Sewfull Event this year, an invitation I was extremely honored to have been offered, I had to forego being a part of the annual Gruber’s Gals Bloggers Retreat this year. (I still haven’t figured out how to be in more than one place at a time!)
Ten of us get together at Gruber’s Quilt Shop and Retreat Center every summer and spend 3 days sewing and laughing together. I hope I don’t have to miss another one — I already have next year’s marked on my calendar!
While at the retreat, we all exchange “Happies”, a term introduced to us by two of our Gruber’s Gals, René and Michelle, who are sisters.
But even though I wasn’t there, I got the sweetest package in the mail afterwards from Stephanie.
And a sweet little note tucked in . . .
It would have taken me months just to do the packaging, but what a nice touch!
Inside was the most adorable and beautiful little needlecase!
The workmanship is just perfect. If only I could stitch so neatly . . .
The attention to detail is fabulous. This must have taken her since last year’s retreat!
The needlecase is just gorgeous. I told Stephanie I was afraid to use it, but that it would have a special place in my new sewing room.
But she told me I HAVE to use it, and if it wears out, she’ll just make me another one. How’s that for a deal?
I wonder if that deal will apply also to the pincushion she gave me a couple years ago? I’m using the heck out of it. It might just wear out — wink, wink!
Thank you so much, Stephanie! It’s truly a treasure.
I think this sort of ups the ante for Happies for next year’s retreat — I guess I better go get started on mine right now!
What a beautiful needle case!!!
Isn’t that Stephanie (& all the other Gruber’s Gals) something?
Wow, such a pretty needle case. I think I would be afraid to use it too 🙂
I’m so happy you liked it. It was really fun to make each one and think about you all as I did. E. helped me with all the packaging. She had a lot of fun helping me with it!
