It’s time to kick off the 2017 version of The 350 Blocks Project!
Are you ready?
Once again, I’m hoping it’s even bigger and better than last year.
Are we ready to make even more than that in 2017? I think we can do it!
I made us a new button — I was tired of the old one!
So many of you made it past 350 blocks really easily. So once again, I debated whether to change the name of the Project, but I’ve still decided to go ahead and leave it at 350. It’s a good goal to shoot for, nearly a block a day. And if you get more than that, it just boosts our group total, so I hope we all get past that mark, but I think it’s still the best goal number to shoot for that suits all of us.
I believe this is the 6th year for the 350 Blocks Project, so if you’ve been with me before, you know how it works, but I’m hoping we get lots of new folks joining in this year. Anyone is welcome to join, and here is how it works:
Here are the general rules:
* Let me know you’re playing along
Simply comment on this post, or contact me to let me know you’re in. I deleted all of last year’s info to start fresh, so if you are playing along again this year, please let me know again, and I’ll add you back. (It keeps me from getting confused — there’s a lot to keep track of.)
The web page for the 350 Blocks Project is HERE, where I’ll be listing information regarding the project and how it’s progressing. If you’re participating, I’ll put your name (and a link to your blog if you have one) on the project page. You can jump in any time.
If you only want to do some of the months, that’s fine. You’ll be eligible for the prize that month. Can’t start till later? No problem, you can still do the months you’re able to. Just do what you can.
Our block goal for the month is posted on the Project page, and this year, I’m doing random numbers, because I got bored with the same ol’ 30 every month!
* Report in every month
I’ll put up a monthly blog post about the project, either on the last day of the month, or the first day of the next month, where I’ll show you the blocks I get done. When you see one of those posts, you need to leave a comment on it, telling us all about your own progress, and either link back to your own blog post, or at least let me know how many blocks you’ve done. You can also email me directly with your current number of blocks, or use the contact page to let me know. I’ll give you a few days to report in each month, so that you have time to leave your comment and be eligible for the prize, because . . . if you don’t let me know you’re playing along, I won’t know to include you in the drawings!
I’ll post your number of completed blocks next to your name on the project page, so you can see how you’re doing compared to everyone else, and I’ll update it every time you let me know your new number. This is NOT a race, however, and everyone who reports in is eligible for the prizes. I repeat, it’s not a contest, it’s just for fun! And prizes!
* Monthly prizes
At the end of each month, I’ll have a prize drawing for those who have made progress that month. I’ll draw one random winner from everyone who reports in that month. What this means is: You MUST report in each month in order to be eligible for that month’s prize drawing.
* Grand Prizes
At the end of the year, there will be some Grand Prizes. If you actually meet the goal of 350 blocks, you’re eligible for the big Grand Prize, and if you don’t quite make it, you’re still eligible to win some prizes just for participating. Everyone who has reported in at least six times during the Project is eligible for the final prize drawings. I’ve changed this rule just a bit, to be more fair to those who report in regularly. I don’t feel it’s fair to award a prize to someone who reports in once in January, then never reports in again, over someone who reports in regularly.
So are you ready?
If you’re up for the challenge, let me know you’d like to participate, and you can steal the button above for your blog if you like (which isn’t mandatory). Just link back to: <https://prairiemoonquilts.com/?page_id=1037>

Of course I’m in, but I can’t find the link for the new button.
I’ll play again this year.
Count me in! I like keeping track of how many blocks I complete–even if I haven’t finished anything I still feel like I’ve made progress if I’ve made a bunch of blocks!
Count me in! I really enjoy the challenge and it keeps me accountable.
Thank you for doing another year, count me in! Last year I started late looking forward to full year and the challenge.
I love being in………..
I’m ready to give it a try.
Count me in for another year. I believe I have already done the required 27 for the month but that doesn’t mean I will stop, ha!!
I’m in for 2017

This is Becka, in Virginia
Count me in.
IU am in again for this year!
Count me in again. Having to report in every month is a great motivator! But, I doubt that I will be as prolific this year as I was last year. I used up almost all the fabric that others had gifted to me (the stuff they didn’t want) on charity quilts last year. I will still make charity quilts, but I will spend more time on my own projects this year and those are usually more involved and take longer to make.
I’m in. I enjoyed participating last year. I was able to complete a few quilts. I hope to get even more made this year. Thank you!
I’m in. It’ll be interesting to see how many blocks I make this year. Thanks for doing this.
I’m in for 2017. I love having some sort of accountability – it keeps me motivated.
It’s time to play! I’m in.
I would like to join the quilt block of the month.

Count me in again, this year I hope I can get some quilting done…Last year was not good for health and quilting… Love the new button.
Count me in. I am going to give it my best effort to finish up some projects this year.
Count me in again for 2017. I am hoping to get a large block count because I have not joined too many swaps that will take my time away.
Thank you for hosting again this year!
Count me in please! I am striving to get A lot of quilting done this year and this is a good goal focus for me!
Count me in!
Found you through Lori East. This looks like a fun way to keep up with the blocks I’m making. Hope you get this. I have some difficulty with replying to blog posts. . My phone doesn’t always cooperate. I have enjoyed looking around your blog. I grew up in central MO, but married a cotton farmer from the Bootheel while we were both students at Mizzou. Now my quilting cottage sits on the corner of our cotton farm. I like to think of it as value added agriculture .
Also, I was intrigued by the Andrews grave marker–ready to claim kin until I read the post. Oh, dear!
Count me in. This is something new for me.
Count me in!
Yep, I’m in again! Thanks for a great button!
I’m in !!!!!!
I’m in again. It was a great motivator to be more organized as well as get some sewing done. Thanks!
I would like to participate in the project.
Please count me in. Ive never done this, sounds like fun.
Thank you
This sounds like fun! I’ve never participated in anything like this before. Can’t wait to hear how all of us are doing for our first month.
I’ll give it a go. This is the first time I’ve heard of this.
Another Lori East referral. I’m in!
Just saw your ‘350 blocks’, I’ll try
Please add me too!
This is my first time joining in and it was Lori East’s post on facebook that gave me the nudge I needed.
I will keep count with you again. It is fun to see what gets made.
I participated in 2015 and it really helped keep me on track. Last year, I fell off the wagon and got hardly anything done. I’m back and unfortunately, bigger than ever (at least in the waist and hips). Hopefully, my totals will be higher and I’ll get more done this year. Thanks for keeping everyone inspired.
It was fun to keep track of my blocks. I’ll do it again in 2017. Thanks Shelly for all you do. Pam
Let’s do this, what a great way To get some quilts done.
Thanks for all you do.
I’m in! It’s such a good incentive to sit down and sew for a few minutes. Got two leaders and enders to continue making blocks for this. Blessings,
Oh yes, totally in again for 2017.
I am playing along with the RSC, and have also made a good start on a stack of Heartstrings blocks.
I am interested in taking part and trying to make a block a day or more. It’s a good challenge, and helps to use up stash. Thank you for hosting the challenge.
I’m in this year again. It has been fun.
I’m in, I’m in, I’m in! (Duh.)
DH loves the new stocking pattern, by the by, which is great since I’m making this one for him.

Hi Prairie: I just found you. I would like to join. I have been in a mental stalemate for months. I take stuff out then look at it for a while. Then do something else. Chasing my tail. I have made a wallet and some charity quilts but not what is on my “Bucket List”. I hope this will kick starts me!
My website is out of date. Another thing I want to tackle.
Count me in Shelly… this should get me motivated!
