Every once in awhile I get so busy that I just get overwhelmed, and when I get overwhelmed, it seems to stop me dead in my tracks. There’s so much to do that I can’t do anything at all! Do you ever get that way?
For the last few years, I’ve noticed a movement going around in which you pick a word for the year — a word to live by for that year — to help you move forward or be a better person.
I don’t generally pick a word because that would mean I’d have to make a decision, and when too many options are presented, I have trouble with that . . .
Since I had already decided that I want 2014 to be The Year of Organization for me, I thought of the word “Organize”, but it just seemed cold and impersonal and not really that inspiring — rather overwhelming, in fact — something I don’t need more of.
But what is one key to being organized? Simplifying your “stuff”. So instead, I chose the word “Simplify” as my word for the year, and made myself a simpler list of goals than last year. All goals that should help me Simplify my life a lot more over the course of the year.
You can see my list of goals here: 2014: Simplify
I’ll be posting and putting up some links periodically to let you know how it’s going. And you can always just read the blog for all the latest!
And see how I did on last year’s goals here: My Lucky 13
And I’ll show you my word quilt a little later, once I have it finished . . .
