Butterflies for Becky

Posted on December 5, 2012 by prairiemoonquilts in Longarm Quilting

I recently had the opportunity to quilt yet another antique quilt top for Becky, Grandma Jane’s daughter. Have I mentioned how much I love getting to finish those antique tops that otherwise might never get done?

This one was so cheery. Lots of bright print butterflies appliqued onto white background blocks, then set together with bright yellow solid squares. A very happy quilt.I outline quilted each butterfly, and then made a swirly trail in the open area of each white background.

In the alternating yellow solid blocks, I quilted a “ring of beads” and put a flower inside each one.

Here’s a shot of the back of it:

The quilt has no border, and is a good twin-sized quilt. Becky has already given me the next antique top she wants quilted — an embroidered quilt. I can hardly wait to get started on it!
