One of the last large quilts I quilted for a customer before I left Missouri was a Stars and Crescents quilt for Mary Z.
It’s a king-sized quilt, and Mary wants to use it on her bed, so we discussed quilting patterns, and decided not to quilt it too heavily.
I outlined the stars and crescents, then put smaller diamonds inside the star points. Then what to do for the background? I didn’t want to quilt those too heavily, either. I decided on this “ring of beads” about an inch inside the block frame. Just enough, but not too much.
I don’t know what you call those things I did in the sashing, but there’s a lot of them!
I quilted the outer border with a Greek Key design. I needed to stay away from the very edge because Mary wanted to edge the quilt with Prairie Points. I wonder if she has them all on yet? It’s a long way around the edge of that thing!
WOW! Beautiful quilting, Shelly!!

I LOVE the quilting you did on this quilt. Not too much, just enough. Great job!
Absolutely LOVE the quilting design you came up with. It is perfect for this lovely quilt. I’ll bet you have a very happy customer!
Beautiful!
Awesome job of quilting!
It’s a beautiful quilt, and your quilting–once again–is just the perfect addition. You really know how to make the quilt shine!
I keep forgetting to tell you…I’m almost done with Block 2 of Hazel’s garden! LOL. I am plugging away. I haven’t abandon it!
