December 350 Blocks Report

Posted on January 1, 2018 by prairiemoonquilts in 350 Blocks Project

Well, here we are, at the last report  — we’ve made all the blocks we can make for 2017.

Today, we can start making blocks for the 2018 count!

I went out with a bang! I finally got to count the 419 blocks I’ve been working on all year for my MixMash quilt, leaving me with a total for the year of 1208. I think that might be my largest total ever!

I noticed that a couple of you out there playing along also made this year your best year ever for block making, so I know we done good.

In a week or two, once everyone has had time to report in their final numbers, and I draw for the grand prizes, I’ll publish this year’s statistics, which are always fun to see.

And we’ll kick it off again for 2018, so if you want to play along, get ready!

Meanwhile, the prize winner for November is Karen E., who already had 1452 blocks at the end of November — woohoo!

So now, report in with your final totals for the year, and keep on stitching, so you’ll be ready when the next round starts. And stay tuned for the prize announcements coming soon!

okay 80 for December. Have been making up for a long span where I assembled quilts and didn’t make blocks. I joined a facebook group scrap quilt enthusiasts which is great for inspiration

  2. Sherry V. says:

I did 8 blocks on New Years Eve to bring my December total to a whopping 17 blocks…….not the greatest but I got them done and that is what counts.

I am busily sewing on my first blocks for 2018 with a goal to beat the total blocks made in 2017.

    Happy New Year!

I only was able to do 6 blocks. Praise the Lord hubby is finally home after 2 months in the hospital and then in rehab. Still has a long way to go but he can do it. Thank you for all your encouragement it helped. We will know in February if the infection is gone. If it is,and we pray it is , he will then get his new hip. If not it’s back to the hospital and day one again.

I didn’t complete any blocks for this month. I started the On Ringo Lake mystery quilt (my first Bonnie Hunter mystery) and with the holidays and all, I spent most of my time, cutting and piecing the components of the block! I am so excited to get this done because she revealed the completed quilt today and it’s beautiful! Happy New Year!

  31. Wow, your total is outstanding! So, you can add two humble quilt blocks to my total. Didn’t quite make the challenge this time, Nov/Dec always hang me up. Plus, I had so much grandbaby/grandkids time this past year, not so much time to sew. But what a great trade-off!
Thanks again for hosting this challenge, it’s such a good motivator. Count me in again for 2018.
    Happy New Year, Shelly!

    December total is 174.
One last Christmas quilt, plus a baby quilt I am going to hand quilt so I can sit under a quilt until the freeze lifts!!

  40. Patricia Hotz says:

I have not had much time for sewing so I didn’t get any blocks done for December. My computer has crashed 2 times in one month span of time. I’m hoping 2018 will be better!!
